Often the good relationships are crippled because of satirical use of our language.
Sometimes people just use such words for fun, and unintentionally they hurt the feelings of others; we are often not very careful.
One of the examples:
My nephew's wife sent me the picture of the costly bike purchased by her husband, and wrote there the cost was ₹16 lakhs, in running digits;
and since I had thought that the bike could not be of 16 lakhs, but be of 1.6 lakhs, I wrote so to her;
the quick came satirical reply from her father-in-law:
"Since, the bhai has a car of only ₹ 5 lakhs, he want know and understand that we could buy the bike of ₹16 lakhs".
I felt really bad, since there was no need to mention anything about my car.

There are people who want to show of their wealth, and richness.
***
When to a friend, years ago I had mentioned that he was very rich, he responded thus:
Raol, richness is of the mind, and not of the money.

That friend is a big man, and has PhD and has made national level contributions in the field of telecommunications in India. He is Dr. Ajit Karnik.
