आरव और सूरज

छोटे से गाँव "रामपुर" में रहने वाला आरव एक बहुत ही जिज्ञासु और निडर लड़का था। बचपन से ही उसे घोड़ों का बहुत शौक था। जब भी वह खेतों में अपने बाबा के साथ काम पर जाता, दूर मैदान में दौड़ते हुए घोड़ों को देखकर उसकी आँखों में चमक आ जाती।

उसके बाबा, श्रीधर काका, गाँव के इकलौते घुड़सवार थे। उनका सफेद घोड़ा "सुरज" पूरे गाँव में मशहूर था। परंतु बाबा ने आरव को कभी घुड़सवारी नहीं करने दी। उनका कहना था, "घोड़ा कोई खिलौना नहीं है, बेटा। जब तक तुम जिम्मेदारी नहीं समझोगे, तब तक उसकी पीठ पर चढ़ना तुम्हारे लिए खतरे से खाली नहीं।"

लेकिन आरव ने हार नहीं मानी। उसने रोज़ सुरज की देखभाल करनी शुरू कर दी — उसे चारा देना, उसकी पीठ सहलाना, उसके खुर साफ़ करना। धीरे-धीरे सुरज भी आरव को पहचानने लगा।

अनन्या अपनी कार में बैठी रहती, अर्जुन पास के कैफे से 30 रुपए की चाय मंगवाता।

दोनों के बीच बात बस इतनी होती —

“Topic ready किया?”

“हाँ, तुमने देखा?”

“नहीं, तुम भेज दो।”

लेकिन उस दिन अर्जुन थोड़ी देर से आया।

अनन्या ने पहली बार कमी महसूस की… खुद से नज़रें चुराई।

जैसे ही अर्जुन आया, उसके हाथ में एक छोटी डायरी थी।

“तुम लेट क्यों हुए?”

“कुछ खास नहीं... एक छोटा काम था।”

“क्या काम?”

अर्जुन मुस्कराया, फिर बोला –
“मैं बच्चों को ट्यूशन देता हूँ। आज एक बच्ची रो रही थी... उसका पिता हॉस्पिटल में है। उसे टाइम पर पढ़ाना ज़रूरी था।”

अनन्या कुछ नहीं बोली… पहली बार अर्जुन को गौर से देखा।

जिस लड़के को वो ‘classless’ कहती थी, उसमें कुछ classy था… दिलवाला classy।

अगले दिन, अनन्या चुपचाप अर्जुन के लिए एक कॉफी लेकर आई।

“ये क्या है?” अर्जुन ने पूछा।

“Thanks for yesterday... I mean... for being a good guy.”

अर्जुन हँसा, “Oh wow! आज सूरज कहाँ से निकला?”

अनन्या मुस्कराई... हल्की सी… दिल के किसी कोने में कुछ हिला था।
