YouTube’s Targeting TikTok’s Short Video Format with his New Experimental Feature
If we learn anything over the last few decades, companies will have a positive outlook. With its latest launch, YouTube aims to do just that. Based on an event created by the small video-sharing platform TikTok, YouTube is now developing a feature that allows users to record 15 seconds of video in the app. The experiment is running for some Android and iOS users and allows them to create multi-segment videos with a final video of 15 seconds. This means that users can no longer shoot videos for more than 15 seconds and upload them to Aprio. Such videos should be imported for application.
“We are testing new ways for creators to easily record multiple clips in a YouTube mobile app and upload them to videos. If you're in this experiment, you'll see the 'Create Video' option in the mobile upload stream. Press or hold the record button to record your first clip, or release the button to stop recording that clip. Repeat these steps until you capture the footage for a maximum of 15 seconds,” the blog post(http://support.google.com/youtube/thread/18138167?hl=en) reads.
Currently, YouTube only lets you shoot live or uncensored videos and upload them to the channel. There is nothing to play for, so we shoot a lot of content found on YouTube outside the application. TikTok, on the other hand, is a powerhouse and gives users plenty of space to create their own videos in the app. The app not only allows users to stitch multiple video-sticks but also makes wide use of filters and effects. As it stands now, YouTube is far from providing such functionality during content creation. Since this is just a test, we can see that youtube can add more bling to it if it becomes available to everyone. YouTube is not the only Biggie competing with TikTok. Facebook and Instagram, along with Lasso and Reels, respectively, have been trying to take the bounce of the TikTok thing for years. However, none of them attract attention, as it is interesting to see how YouTube tries to take TikTok in the near future.
