ધૂમકેતુ આ નવલિકાની શરૂઆત મહારાજ અશોકના વંશજો જ્યારે મગધ પર રાજ કરતા હોય છે ત્યારથી થાય છે.
મહારાજ અશોકે છેક કલિંગ સુધી સામ્રાજ્યનો વિસ્તાર કર્યો હતો અને પછી બૌદ્ધ ધર્મ અંગીકાર કરી વિશ્વશાંતિનો સંદેશો આખા વિશ્વમાં ફેલાવ્યો હતો.પણ પછી કહેવત છે કે 'દિવા તળે અંધારું' તેજ પ્રમાણે તેના વંશજો તદ્દન સામર્થ્યહીન અને બુદ્ધિહીન નીકળે છે. તે કોઈ પણ જ્ઞાન વિના મહારાજ અશોકના શાંતી સૂત્રો પોપટની જેમ પઢતા રહેતા.હકીકતે તે બધા યુદ્ધથી ડરતા હતા. તેમાં છેલો શાશક બૃહદ્રથે તો ભીરુતાની સીમા પાર કરી દીધી. તે પોતાની આ નબળાઈ છુપાવવા ધર્મસભા અને શાંતિનું નાટક ચલાવતો અને તેની પાછળ રાજકોશમાંથી કાર્ષાપણો ખર્ચતો.તેનો મહાઆમત્મ્ય કૌંડીન્ય તેનો ફાયદો ઉઠાવી પોતે રાજા બનવાનું ષડયંત્ર કરતો હતો. આ બધામાં સેનાપતિ પુષ્યમિત્ર રાજાને સમજાવી વ્યવસ્થા સ્થાપવાનો અને સૈન્યને તૈયાર કરવાનો પ્રયત્ન કરતો હતો પણ રાજા બૃહદ્રથ એકદમ ડરપોક અને જડબુદ્ધિ હતો જેને લીધે મગધનું રાજ્ય ગુમાવી દેવાની સ્થિતી આવી ગઈ હતી. પુષ્યમિત્ર ઋષિ પતંજલીની આજ્ઞાથી બૃહદ્રથની હત્યા કરે છે અને અમાત્મયને પકડી કારાગૃહમાં મૂકી દે છે અને પછી મગધનું મહત્વ ફરીથી સ્થાપવા અશ્વમેઘ યજ્ઞ કરે છે.
દેવ પતંજલીના મુખેથી એક અદભુત વાક્ય નીકળે છે.
• ધર્મમાં જ્યારે માત્ર બાહ્ય વસ્તુજ રહે છે ને વિચાર નાશ પામે છે, ત્યારે ધર્મના જેવી ભયંકર ક્રૂરતા જીવનમાં બીજી એકે નથી. એ આપઘાતી ક્રૂરતા આત્માને ઠગે છે ને હીણો બનાવે છે.
ધૂમકેતુ જેવા મહાન લેખકે ગુજરાતી ભાષાના ગૌરવને ખરેખર વધાર્યું છે.

Film Review in 100 Words

Film- Sui Dhaga: made in India

Can anyone be a winner in fashion competition with zero education and zero experience of fashion? well, Our Hindi film's hero and heroine can.

With the slow pace, the movie starts. you can bare it only because of Anushka's good performance. 2 scenes like Varun quitting Job & struggling of getting free stitching machine is nice ( not great ).

Writer and director Sharat Kataria have done nothing bad but not done extraordinary also under the big banner of Aditya Chopra.

SUI ?- Not creating the connection between audience and struggling of the lead characters.
DHAGA ?- the length of the film is only 2 hours.

You can skip this movie and can even skip it watching on television after 2 months too.
