When I was going to move to official quaters with my family, a colleague-friend had advised me to be careful, that the gossips in here might create some difficult situations for me; and to which I did say fine, but did not bother much about it, until and unless I really felt a solid pinch of it, some years later then, how pragmatic was he!
These gossip-mongers enjoyed spreading rumours, and we were caught really unawares, after-effects of which we are still facing from their remanents.
Beware of gossip-ghosts.
