From: Pradip R. Raol:
Does this mean we can't live without old methods and customs?
(A response to my just the previous 'bites' on the subject of 'hierarchy').

Answer by JIRARA:
We still have patriarchal structure in our societies, but in Kerala they have matriarchal system.
Many old methods that are beneficial to our progress should be practiced without any hesitation, as long as they are not harmful to others.
Many old customs and conventions have had good intentions, and if these have some practical meaning and usefulness, these can be practiced; but blindly following any of such approaches without understanding is no wiseness at all.
With changing (due to technolocal advances) times and new inputs from our evolving culture, we should modulate old methods, conventions, and customs, so that these provide the benefits of the ancient wisdom (vast experience of thousands of years of thousands of people and families) and new innovations.

May be in next few 'bites', we would take some examples, and discuss the pros and cons of old versus new ideas and opportunities.
