Here are some important roles,
Of an aunty, who is in fact called, Bhuva (Foiba), i.e. the father's sister.
If she is the elder, or eldest, then,
Her role becomes unavoidable.
In all the important functions: birth of a new baby, selection of a bride for the son or the groom for the daughter, selection of the garments, ornaments, and choice of sweets, etc; even in the sharing of property and wealth amongst the brothers!
And her words used to be final, like commandments, and nobody used to object any of these. And all lived in the comfort of her advices and suggestions.
I have had myself seen the sway that the Bhuva used to hold. In all the dealings that were observed, she seemed innocent, and sincere.
I still have vivid memories of her such endeavours that were full of feelings for my father and all of us. I wish she were amongst us, me and my own family!
Nowadays, I am not sure that there are such Bhuvajis who know how to extend their times and efforts for their brothers.
