On Doctor's Day, 1st July, 2020 (in India):
I thought to express my feelings for this day.
In 2002 October, I had a stroke in the left side of my brain, and my right side limbs were largely paralyzed. Dr. Mrs. Lalitha, of NAL dispensary (CSIR, India), was called and she gave one injection, and on her advice, I was quickly shifted by my son, and daughter-in-law Gayatri, to Manipal hospital (Bangalore); wherein I was attended by Dr. A. R. Bhatt, a neurologist. Dr. Lalitha later on came to see me in the ICU. I recovered almost completely.
It was in March 2014, I had developed an acute chest infection, and Dr. Prakash (of NAL), advised me to get admitted to Manipal; wherein I was treated by Dr. Issac Matthew; and I recovered primarily within one week.
It was on 20, March 2020, I became victim of the mishap, that was my own creation, and fell down on the floor, while doing some repair work on water filter. My son, and his friends shifted me to emergency unit of Manipal, and next day I was operated for 4-5 hours and my calf muscle bone, and right hand elbow were set right by Dr. Lokesh V., and Dr. Arun Kumar; by putting a few titanium plates, and small structures. The operation was done very successfully, and I am recovering reasonably quickly.
Dr. Chaitra Jaydeva, and Dr. Satidevi of Narayan Netralay meticulously treated my eyes for macular edema, and glucoama, respectively. Dr. Chaitra had administered 15 injections in my right eye.
My mother was effectively and efficiently treated by Dr. Amarnarayan for her
orthoporosis, and Dr. Sweta Desai treated her for breast- calcification.
All the NAL medical officers treated all my family members: mother, wife, daughter, and son always very deligently, and made correct diagnoses, accurate medications, and timely and proper referrals to other hospitals.
Dr. Ashok Wadhwa has been my entire family's great orthopaedic doctor, from Chinmaya mission hospital.
It is due to these and previous NAL doctors: Dr. Nanjudaswamy, Dr. Pranesh, and many others whose names I don't remember, have had provided immense attention, care and treatment, due to which my own, and my family's health index has considerably enhanced. All these doctors and the nurses have been very kind to us.
They would always say, it was/is their duty, but even then, they had/have shown special feelings to all of us, and their treatment had/has been extremely successful for, be it our routine problems, of cold, fever, stomach upset, or be it our special issues of brain clotting, chest infection, fractures, ladies' problems, physiotherapy, uti, eye treatment, and many more.
I with all my family members thank all these doctors for their selfless service to us for several decades.
We wish them best in their lives. I also, thank NAL's health center committees for their quick approval of costly eye injections, and the subsequent treatment has been largely effective, and I wish these members very well in their lives.
