SEPTUAGENARIAN
Seems just the other day, I was seven, hopping, skipping, jumping; it was so exciting!
Fervently doing I was, my kasti, soon after my Navjot, my Avesta prayers religiously reciting
Also, remember I, climbing trees, and without washing fruits, directly into them, biting
When and how the burdens of a mundane life gradually took over me, actually remember I do not;
In duties and responsibilities, one slowly gets entangled, like a spider in his own web is caught!
Teenage to youth, adulthood, parenthood, then grandparents, n now of course what age has brought on
I have just turned into a septuagenaian; quickly changed, have things, as time slipped off, years have gone ;
It was a beautiful dawn, bright n shining; but, I now see dusk, the shadows, night slowly but certainly coming on.
Lord kind, let me grow old gracefully, accepting the change that comes gradually
Help me bear the oncoming aches and pains; and the body organs slowing down eventually
To almost any and every septuagenaian, this is bound to happen. Come it is going to, perpetually.
