*यह रचना अत्यंत रोचक और सत्य है ।*
*બે જુબાન પથ્થર પર*
લાખો ના ઘરેણાં
લટકતા જોયા છે મેં.
*અને મંદિરની સીડી પર*
એક રૂપિયા માટે તરસતું
દેશ નું ભવિષ્ય પણ
જોયું છે મેં.
*સજાવ્યા છપ્પન ભોગ*
અને મીઠાં મેવાઓ
એક *મુરત* ની સામે,
*મંદિર ની બહાર એક માનવ* ને ભૂખ થી તડપતા
જોયા છે મેં.
*ઓઢાડેલી છે*
રેશમી ચાદરો તે મજાર પર,
*પણ બહાર એક* વૃદ્ધ માતા ને ઠંડી થી થર થર કાંપતા જોઈ છે મેં.
*મૂર્ખ દઈ આવ્યો છે*
લાખો રૂપિયા મંદિર
નિર્માણ માટે,
*એના જ ઘરમાં*
માત્ર 500 રૂપિયા માટે કામવાળી બાઈ ને
બદલતા જોઈ છે મેં.
*સાંભળ્યું છે ચડ્યો છે*
મંદિરના પગથિયાં
તેના દુઃખના નિવારણ માટે,
*એના જ માઁ બાપને*
અનાથઃ આશ્રમમાં,રડતા કકળતા પણ જોયા છે મેં.
*સળગાવતા રહ્યા તે*
અખંડ જ્યોત સાચા
દેશી ઘી થી,
*ગરીબ ભૂખ્યા તરસ્યા*
બટકું રોટલા માટે
ઝગડતાં જોયા છે મેં.
*જેણે નથી આપી*
*માઁ બાપ ને ભરપેટ*રોટલી ક્યારેય,*
*આજ અચાનક તેને*
સમાજમાં સમૂહ ભોજન
કરાવતા જોયા છે મેં.
*કહેવા માટે શબ્દો પણ*
ઓછા પડે છે મારાં હવે,
*માણસોના હજારો*
રંગ બદલાતા પણ
જોયા છે મેં.

I have seen:
-costly ornaments hung on a mute stone in a temple,
and,
on the steps of the temple, future of the country longing for a rupee;
-chhappan bhog and sweets, and dry fruits in front of an idol,
and,
a hungry man begging in the front of the temple;
-the silk chaadar on the tomb,
and
an old lady trembling in cold outside the mosque;
-the fool donating lakhs of rupees for construction of a temple,
and,
in his own house, changing a house maid for 500 rupees;
-him climbing steps of a temple to get rid of his unhappiness,
and,
his parents crying in an old- age home;
-kept deepam on for long using pure ghee,
and,
the poor fighting for pieces of a bread;
-him throwing parties,
and,
not giving proper food to his own parents;

I am at loss of words to tell the stories of these men,
and of the thousands changing colors of them,
- All that I have seen!!!
