In our country there are nearly 50 lakhs of the so called sadhus, and mostly are concentrated in the broad belt of the northern India.
They don't do any great activities, just do routine rituals and pass time and live their lives. They regard themselves as the protector of one major religion of the country.
It would be prudent to train them, on a long run, for some social works and duties, so that during many emergencies, their times, energies, and efforts could be usefully utilised; our sociologists, and law makers should together chalk out a plan to bring this huge workforce in the fore for the real service of the society.
