The Delhi government is preparing approximately 1,500 ghats along the Yamuna riverbank for the Chhath Puja from October 27–30. Despite previous concerns over water contamination, temporary ghats are being set up with amenities like tents, lights, water, toilets, and cultural programs. A government holiday is also declared for October 27 to mark the most significant day of the four-day festival.
⛳ DP World India Championship
The inaugural DP World India Championship is underway at the Delhi Golf Club from October 16–19. With a $4 million prize purse, the tournament features top golfers like Tommy Fleetwood and Shane Lowry, alongside Indian talents such as Shubhankar Sharma and Anirban Lahiri.

In an effort to combat pollution, the Delhi regional government is trialling a cloud-seeding experiment to induce artificial rain. This initiative aims to clean the air in one of the world’s most polluted cities.

Following Diwali celebrations, Delhi recorded a sharp rise in pollution levels, with post-festival readings averaging around 488, compared to just 156.6 before the festival. These elevated levels pose health risks, especially for vulnerable populations.
