The solution lies not in abandoning the carrot and stick approach but in recalibrating it—ensuring that rewards are accessible and just, and penalties are fair and corrective rather than selective and coercive. Only with systemic reforms, transparent governance, and genuine accountability can India shift from the chaotic performance of today to a governance model that truly serves its people. The misfiring circus must end, and a new act of fair and transformative governance must begin.
