From my experience I would like to suggest that:
you drink a half/one cup of normal/room temperature water before
eating/drinking hot/spicy food/drinks, and oily foods/snacks.
If you are too hungry, then also do the same as above; but here don't drink ice-cold water, and drinks or don't eat icecream.

At any other time, if you get acidity, then drink one cup of cold water or milk.
