When you are 18 you are called an adult;
when you get a degree, you are more adult, and educated;
when you get a job, you have started settling, and yet more adult, and a sense of responsibility has set in your system;
when you get married, you are wise, and more settled;
when you have one or two children, you are wiser, and if you have a house of your own, you are nearly well settled;
And by now, you have started gaining some wisdom about life's vagaries;
and nearly forty years of life has slipped away from you;
and your medical tests have started;
and your children are entering their own adult-hood;
and in coping with their trials and errors, your aging starts visiting you often;
wiser children become your friends and supportive;
otherwise, they age you up faster than normal;
and you aim for their marriages, and settling them;
and you age still faster, and faster;
once, retired from your job-work,
your wife doesn't want to listen to your 'lectures';
with all your accolades, honors, and your achievements, you used to walk on this Earth one inch higher;
now that you have half a dozen medical issues, you are flat on the bed most of the times;
And you think: what did I do in my life?, I never thought of myself, and my health, and peace and tranquility; should I tell my children not to fall in this trap?, or let the peace prevail as is;
and allow them to learn on their own?, I don't know!!!
