I have put here a decoction recipe that I have been using, for my 95 years' old mother, for last five years to treat the constipation.
Mainly the following is useful for senior citizens, who have no activites in the entire day.
Ingredients:
1. Three tablespoons of triphala or small-himaj powder.
2. One teaspoon of coffee powder.
3. Two teaspoons of tea powder/granules.
4. One teaspoon of salt.
5. One teaspoon of sugar.
6. One teaspoon of turmeric powder.
7. One teaspoon of ginger powder.
8. One teaspoon of black pepper powder.
9. One teaspoon of cloves powder.
10. One-half teaspoon of cardamom powder.
11. One-half teaspoon of cinnamon powder.

Take half litre of water and put all the above mentioned items in it and boil for some time. Then filter and store in a glass/thick-plastic bottle, and store in the refrigerator, in the side door-slot, don't put in the freezer.

In the morning, take a small cup/glass of water and heat the water for one minute in microwave, and pour one/one-&-half (or two) caps of the decoction that is stored in the refrigerator, into the heated water, and drink on empty stomach (please see that this water is warm but not too hot), just after getting up from the bed, and do normal activities, but don't lie down.

In most cases and in most probability, the bowels will be cleared within 15-20 minutes.
