Today was a little adventure for Oreo and me! I’ve never really been able to take him swimming in a proper pool because, honestly, they’re too far from Delhi. But I didn’t want him to miss out on the fun, so I decided to set up a bigger paddle pool at home.
It wasn’t easy, of course. I had to order it from Amazon, and after three tries of ordering and returning, I finally got the perfect size. Seriously, I was starting to wonder if the universe didn’t want Oreo to swim at all. But finally, victory!
Setting it up was fun — and a little chaotic — but once it was ready, Oreo went straight in like he’d been waiting for this his whole life. We even invited our neighbors, and their dogs joined in too. It was absolute chaos, in the best way. Dogs splashing, tails wagging, everyone running around and barking, and little snacks everywhere because, of course, humans need snacks too.
Poor Oreo did get a tiny hurt on his paw while playing, but he bounced right back, because that’s just him. Everyone had a blast, and seeing all the dogs happy and playing together was honestly so much fun. After the pool session, we gave all the dogs a bath together — the ultimate clean-up mission. By the end, everyone was tired but happy, and I felt like we’d had a perfect little celebration right in our own backyard.
It wasn’t a fancy swimming pool, but the smiles, splashes, and laughter made it way better than any proper pool could have. Oreo was the happiest, and honestly, so was I.
