Who Am I
by Vijay Sharma Erry
I am not just the name they call,
Not just the face you see each day.
I am the whispers in my soul’s hall,
The dreams that never fade away.
I’m the spark in the darkest sky,
The answer to my own “Who am I?”
I am the footsteps that refused to stop,
On roads where storms were fierce and wild.
I’ve climbed from valleys to mountain tops,
Still holding the heart of a child.
Every scar and every tear I cry,
Shapes the truth of my “Who am I?”
I am the voice that speaks for the weak,
The hand that lifts the fallen near.
I search for wisdom the old ones seek,
And guard the hopes I hold so dear.
Not just to live, but to aim high,
Is the heartbeat of my “Who am I?”
I am the canvas of night and dawn,
Painted with colors joy and pain.
From every loss, a strength is born,
From every drought, I learn from rain.
I rise each time, I always try,
To earn the right to say “Who am I?”
I am the seed that breaks the stone,
The river carving its destined way.
I walk my path, though not alone,
For love still lights my every day.
The world may ask, the world may pry,
But only I can know “Who am I?”
And when my final breath I take,
May my story in the stars still glow.
That I was more than the life I make,
More than the things the world will know.
For I am a soul that dared to fly,
And that’s my answer to “Who am I?”
