Any graceful dance is one of the noblest arts, and appeals to the intellect as well as to the heart, i. e. to the human's feelings; and this gives intellectual pleasure that is one of the highest forms of joy to which a man can rise. According to me the function of art is catharsis, and purification of soul.

Next to the dance is the signing accompanied by music, and this also elevates the human 'soul' to some higher dimension of joy and you feel terrifically proud of the singers and their mentors as you do for the dancers and their gurus.
When dancing and singing go beyond certain fineness, sophistication and purity, the effect is mesmerizing and it ushers the human 'soul' to the sublimity.
Such experiences, though not of perfect self-realization, but serve as the definite passages to it, and are almost near to the Universal principle of 'Godhood of Love', the GOL, e.g. the singer and the listener are lost in some 'trance'.
