*Day 5th of Navratri .*
*Skanda mata is the fifth form of Navdurga and On the fifth day of Navratri Pooja, Skanda mata is worshipped. She is Goddess Parvati , the mother of Kartikeya (Lord Skanda) and thus revered with name 'Skanda mata'. She is represented with four-arms holding six-faced infant Kumar Kartikey in her lap. Her both right and left upper hands hold lotus flower. *
*Worshipping Skandamata, one automatically also worships Lord Skanda in her lap, and therefore receives grace and blessings from both divinities. Goddess Skandmata blesses devotee with power, prosperity and true wisdom.*
*It is believed that devotees enter in to “Vishuddha Chakra “ during the 5th day of worship of Durga Pooja. Vishudha means pure in all directions. It is here in this Chakra that one with power of discretion, unpolluted awareness and wisdom purifies his thoughts by removing all kinds of negativities. Skanda Mata cares for Her devotees just like children and blesses them with strength and power and removes obstacles in their path.*
