What path I have taken in my life?

Years ago as a small infant I followed my mother who used to do regular pooja twice a day. She visited temples occasionally, and I used to accompany her. I also did fasts whenever she did. As I grew up, I came under the folds of my father, who was an advocate, as well as a social reformer, and so on. He also used to read theosophy and, eventually, I also started reading books on philosophy, and also some historical stories, etc. I have been an Electrical Engg., (three) degrees-holder, and have been reading lot of popular science books, so I started putting more emphasis here, and less on rituals. More I read on physics/cosmos, and evolution; I got convinced that, the science has given many more convincing answers than any world-religionic system to humans' burning problems and issues. The belief in 'God' and religionic practices are supposed to unite people of the world, but in present time, the contrary is happening; this is bane on the highly educated and sophisticated humanity of today; even 'God' cannot save us.

In this spectrum of things, 'God' and religions have much lesser role to play; one can derive much more solace and peace of mind if s/he practices philosophy, and spirituality. The paths of 'God' and religion can and should be followed initially, in order to somewhat stabilize our wandering minds, but eventually, we should follow the path of science only, that is based on our wisdom and judgement.

However, I write on 'God' in order to clarify many orthodox notions, and to suggest to think of broader facets, rather than age old dogmas on/of 'God'. Also, I support the idea of 'God' in order to give moral support to my wife who is more on the path of rituals. Basically, harmony in the family is more important than any of our belief systems.

Bonding of the family-ties wherein, virtues of attention, care, affection, and kindness abound, is the place where any 'God' might like to stay, in principle.

Personally, I don't believe and practice any rituals. So, I follow the path of science, but still I have nearly clear perception of/on my religion of/by birth. And I practice 'no-hate' to/of other religionic systems.

I derive lot of succour and solace if I understand the causes of the Universe and human life, and this is mainly and fundamentally clarified by science. If I understand human nature deeply, and I learn to respect other human beings, then I would have at least got some glimpses of 'Godhood of Love' in my own life, and my living would have served some purpose; irrespective of belief in 'God' or otherwise.
