What Is Fear?
What is fear?
Fear is not always easy to understand.
Sometimes, even expressing it in words
becomes difficult.
What is fear,
that stops us from moving forward
on our own path?
Why does this very fear
sometimes take away
even the goodness within us?
The more we fear fear,
the more it begins to frighten us.
One of our greatest fears is failure,
and we become so entangled in it
that fear itself begins to control us.
Because of fear,
the mind cannot remain at peace.
We want to do so many things,
but in the face of fear,
our courage comes to a standstill.
We want to escape from fear,
but it traps us in its web
so deeply
that we begin to accept fear itself
as our reality.
Then why should we fear fear?
Why not try to understand its cause?
What is this fear
that makes us stop
our own steps forward?
Fear hides within our emotions,
sometimes in uncertainty,
and sometimes in the thought of failure.
But can we ever free ourselves from fear
by running away from it?
Does fear itself fear fear?
Understand the feeling of fear.
Ask yourself this question—
Why am I afraid?
What lies behind this fear?
Discover the reason.
Recognize the courage within you,
and then tell fear—
Go away, Fear!
I understand you now.
You may become an obstacle on my path,
but you cannot decide my destination.
To overcome fear,
fear does not have to disappear;
what matters is moving forward
even when fear is still there.
We must not surrender to fear,
but understand it
and learn to overcome it.
For victory belongs to those
who do not bow before fear,
but keep moving forward
despite its presence.
