Maazaa Bombay Tujhi Mumbai
If prepared you are to work, Bombay won't let you ever hungry go;
You can fill up that pit,(tummy) even if your income is poor or low
That stomach filling, mouth watering spicy vada-paav;
Get it you will at every nook and corner, be it down-town or a "Gaon"
Ahh n Irani chai with Bun- Muska, once you have it, you will get its "chaska"
At the Bhel-puri, Pani-puri cart, you will be told, " arre baba, zala na, aata khaska"
Almost anything n everything is easily available for the ultra rich;
But the ordinary ones can make do with Batata vada, dal-bhakhar, sev-puri or sandwich.
I am a freak of
icecreams at K Rustom's, Peach-Melba at Badshah's, or stuff at Haji-Ali corner.
The toffees n goodies of Parsi dairy farm, or Malai n Mava-khajas at Dadar
Mawa Pori, Khaman Ghaari from Dadar, or Mawa cakes of B. Mehervan lure me even today
When it comes to goodies I grew up eating at Bombay, I simply don't know what to say !
Bombay for me holds rich sentiments, not Mumbai the commercial capital of India
Wish to tell you this, I do "Bombay mein tu nahi jiya, to khaak jiya"!
