LORD KRISHNA MEANS CELEBRATION!
Where Krishna is, there is life, joy and celebration.
The very name of Lord Krishna fills the heart with colours—the colour of the peacock feather, the melody of the flute, the waves of the Yamuna, the joyful lanes of Gokul, the warmth of friendship and the celebration of life.
Lord Krishna is not merely a divine figure; He represents a beautiful philosophy of living life with joy, wisdom and courage. That is why we can truly say:
“Krishna means Celebration!”
Krishna’s life was not free from difficulties. From the very moment of His birth, He faced challenges. He spent His childhood in Gokul, faced powerful forces such as Kaliya and Kansa, and later became the guiding force during the great Mahabharata war. Yet, through every challenge, Krishna remained cheerful, wise and composed.
This is perhaps one of His greatest lessons:
Whatever the circumstances, never lose your enthusiasm for life.
Krishna’s flute teaches us to find music in life. His friendship with Sudama teaches us that true relationships are built not on wealth but on affection and loyalty. The lifting of Govardhan reminds us of the power of unity and courage. And the Bhagavad Gita teaches us to perform our duties sincerely without being excessively attached to the results.
Krishna is love as well as wisdom.
Krishna is playfulness as well as seriousness.
Krishna is the flute as well as the Sudarshan Chakra.
Krishna is Raas as well as strategy.
These beautiful contrasts make Krishna unique.
Today, in the age of technology, we have smartphones, the internet and Artificial Intelligence. We have countless facilities, yet somewhere along the way, many of us have forgotten how to celebrate life.
Krishna reminds us that life is not merely about achieving success; it is also about experiencing joy, sharing love and celebrating every meaningful moment.
Janmashtami is therefore not merely a festival to celebrate Krishna’s birth at midnight. It is an opportunity to give birth to love, courage, friendship, wisdom, positivity and a sense of duty within ourselves.
We do not have to search for Krishna only in temples. If there is love in our behaviour, courage in difficult situations, sincerity in friendship and honesty in our actions, then Krishna is already present in our lives.
Let us not merely worship Krishna; let us live His philosophy.
Let us not merely listen to His flute; let us bring sweetness into our relationships.
Let us not merely watch the Raas; let us create a Raas of happiness in our own lives.
Krishna means courage, not escape.
Krishna means wisdom, not worry.
Krishna means hope, not despair.
And above all—Krishna means Celebration!
This Janmashtami, let us welcome Krishna not only into our homes and temples, but also into our hearts and actions.
Because where Krishna is, there is life…
Where there is life, there is joy…
And where there is joy, there is celebration..
