It is true that certain groups made yagnas, conducted some special Poojas/prayers, and so on to get the monsoon rains; and granted that the rains now have come, and in several places in Gujarat, these rains have created havoc; and I am really doubtful that these and such practices will bring any control, beautify the places, reconsruct the destroyed structures, and save the crop; only very carefully planned and honestly executed projects: waste water management, fast rains water diversion, strong houses, long-durable roads and bridges, and retaining some ponds in the villages and towns could have saved the people from the severe damaging effects of these floods.
