I have had faced this issue on some occasions in my job place, and was not aware that there could be a few who would treat me so badly inspite of me having first class master's degree in one of the most difficult disciplines in electrical engineering; as if he was daily interviewing me and treating me as if I was a 'dumb' guy; eventually, in the process of time I did much better in my work, studies, and publications that all exceeded his achievements; because I was mentally stronger and did not budge at all; and one day, some years later when I confronted him, he was damn surprised and could not believe his eyes that I was so bold, articulate and not 'dumb' as he had thought of me; just that I was respecting him, and I did not want to insult him I used to keep quiet; which he mis-judged, and mis-used his position to bulley me; in his heart he had a fear that I was much smarter than him, and one day I would go ahead of him; in fact actually his fears came true when I was made incharge of the group, and he was not.
