Poetry… a few words on paper that tell us the history of the human heart. Take the oldest poem you can find, and the latest one you just read, the place and feel where it comes from is the same!
Kavya Mudra, a non-profit organisation with a single purpose, celebrate poetry! Since 2009, we have hosted some of the premier most literary events in the city of Ahmedabad, our home! We’ve had the fortune of being with great people from the world of poetry, literature, and music.
Every year, Kavya Mudra honours a senior Gujarati poet, with the Kavya Mudra Vinod Neotia Award. A distinguished jury comprising eminent personalities like Shri Raghuveer Chaudhary, Shri Rajendra Patel, and Shri Vansantbhai Gadhavi decides upon the honouree. This year, the Kavya Mudra Vinod Neotia Award 2019 is to be felicitated to Shri Yagnesh Dave for his contribution to the world of Gujarati poetry and literature.
Similarly, Kavya Mudra also felicitates a young poet for his work in order to promote and motivate young poets and writers to contribute to the Gujarati language. Another distinguished jury comprising of Shri Nitin Vadagama, Shri Rajesh Vyas ‘Miskeen’, and Shri Tushar Shukla decides upon the young honouree. This year, the Kavya Mudra Yuva Pratibha 2020 is to be felicitated to Shri Bhavesh Bhatt for his beautiful and inspiring poetry! The award is sponsored by ADC Bank.
The above-mentioned decisions were taken unanimously by the jury members at the meeting held on Match 15, 2020.
A poem is a secret voice, which is always out there but only a true seeker gets to hear it. We’ve been fortunate to have an audience that loves and appreciates poetry like no one else. Due to the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) Pandemic, the official award ceremony will be held privately, following the rules and guidelines of physical distancing and sanitisation. The ceremony will be available on our official YouTube channel along with other videos from previous seasons.
