Few thoughts (on my previous'bites'):
Of course we are born in this world with some purpose. Every species is interconnected and interdependent and nobody sits without any work. You will not see any organism or insects, even virus and bacteria jobless. The purpose is to procreate and support offsprings. And exist. Just existing is the main purpose, no deeper meaning. So, if we have to exist then why not exist/live efficiently, successful and peacefully, and here comes philosophy, and science and technology. May be the universe has a long way to go... It is still expanding... It's work is not complete. It may exist for another thousand billion years, so we can not say or make out what is it's purpose. It is like when a housewife is boiling potatoes, we can't know what recipe she will make finally.
You are right, the truth comes in parts, small pieces, only when the end result comes, we know it's purpose. In this long long drama of the universe we have a few micro seconds of screen time . However, we have to play our role efficiently, so if the universe doesn't clap, applaud at least our family appreciates it. More importantly we ourselves are happy with our efforts.

JIRARA's reply:
Meaning of a 'purpose' is that it is assigned by somebody, or self-assigned.
In evolution, there is no such purpose, in common sense of the term, things happen and evolve based on the surrounding and prevailing conditions.
We are the product of chance only.
Then, when we evolve, we decide the purpose for ourselves and others. So, this is after effect.
