કોવિડ – ૧૯ મહામારીને લીધે ૧૯૦થી વધુ દેશોએ શાળાઓ અને કોલેજો બંધ કરવાની ફરજ પડી જેનાથી વિશ્વના લગભગ ૯૦% એટલે કે ૧૬૦ કરોડ બાળકોનું ભણતર ઠપ્પ થઈ ગયું. એક બાજુ શિક્ષણને બંધ રાખવું પરવડે તેમ નથી અને બીજી બાજુ સ્કૂલો ચાલુ કરવી હિતાવહ જણાતી નથી. આવા સંજોગોમાં વૈકલ્પિક વ્યવસ્થાના ભાગરૂપે સૌથી સારો વિકલ્પ છે, “દૂરસ્થ શિક્ષણ વ્યવસ્થા (Remote Learning System)”.
