✧ When Simplicity Was God ✧
There was a time when man had no science,
yet a thirst to know burned within.
He looked at the sky — and bowed,
touched the earth — and felt grateful.
No one had to teach him religion,
for life itself was the teacher.
The same fire cooked every meal,
and every mouth knew the same taste.
There were no rich, no poor —
only different bowls,
never a difference in the flavor of life.
Then science arrived.
Man began to gaze at the stars,
but lost sight of his own eyes.
Religion turned into a marketplace,
and peace became a product.
Meditation now comes in packages,
prayers are drowned in noise.
Lamps still burn in temples,
but darkness deepens within.
Everyone now has dreams,
yet the soul is missing somewhere.
Science promises the future,
religion — the afterlife,
and the present stands empty.
Now devotion lives on stage,
saints glow in the spotlight,
and man sits in the dark.
And the question rises —
is there anything of the soul left at all?
Yes — but it lives in solitude.
Only the one who can break his dreams
can still hear it whisper.
Now, God is no longer in temples,
but in one’s honesty.
The guru is no longer a word,
but the reflection within.
A day will come again —
when science and soul will unite,
when simplicity will once more be God,
and silence will speak again.
