Chapter- 28
The film producer had cheated him. He had earned millions of rupees from the film based on his story. Yet, he hadn't give Sunder a single penny. This had deeply shocked him.
As if that wasn't enough, the Indian market had also crashed due to the American market, causing Sunder heavy losses, and he had lost his mental balance.
He had become somewhat deranged. He would make a lot of noise and commotion.
I tried my best to reason to convince him, but his greed had become his own enemy. And he was beating his head in frustration.
The situation at home was quite precarious. It seemed difficult to manage the household expenses.
He would vent his frustration and despair on his family members. He would get angry at Sneha without any reason.
There was one thing Sunder was solely responsible for his condition. But he was not ready to accept this fact. Because of this, not only he but all of us had to face problems. Even though he was educated, he was unwilling to accept it. This deeply saddened me.
Whatever he thought and believed was the truth for him. He was not ready to listen to or understand anyone else's point of view.
I had tried to teach him about positive thinking through many examples, but he couldn't break free from his own mindset.
"Two boys looked out the window: one saw flowers and the other saw mud. Whose fault was that?"He couldn't grasp how much power positive thinking held.
His life had gone off track again due to negative experiences. Getting him back on track seemed impossible.
Admitting him to a mental hospital was the only option left.
With a heavy heart, I admitted him to the hospital. He wasn't in a state to understand anything. In that condition, he was given a tranquilizer injection and taken to the hospital.
I had never done anything wrong, nor had I ever thought ill of anyone, yet God made me experience immense pain through this ordeal.
It was a case of "one person does the wrong, another suffers the consequences." There seemed to be some curse of God on my in-laws' family. Here, girls often went mad and their sons became blind.
Why did God mete out such justice? I couldn't understand anything.

God had taken away my beloved daughter Krishna from me. Bhavika's love was not in my destiny. Then He gave me two gifts. Flora as a replacement for Bhavika and Sneha as a gift after taking Krishna. For that, I was always grateful to God. Sneha had given me everything, but I couldn't give her happiness, even though I wanted to. I couldn't keep the promise I had made to Sumer.
Neela was always worried about my condition.
Her eyes could be treated; she could see again, but she was more worried about Sunder She prayed to God for his eyesight.
Garima had sought help from a charitable trust for Neela's eye operation. They had agreed to cover the cost of the surgery.
And here too, a miracle happened. The charitable trust run by the ancestors of the Seth Brothers covered the cost of the operation.
Within a few days, she started to see. She recognized everyone by their voices. Her eyes were searching for Sunder. She knew he was in the hospital. In this state, she insisted on seeing him first.
I took her to the hospital. Seeing Sunder's condition, she became very emotional. She still regretted not being able to give her eyes to Sunder, because a transplant wasn't possible for him. The nerves in his eyes had completely withered.
It wasn't enough that he was blind. God had played a cruel trick on his life.
I had always accepted God's every decision. But what He had done to Sunder, I could never understand. This was the one thing that had created a crack in my faith in God. Neela was deeply distressed by his condition. She didn't want to put him in a mental hospital, but she was helpless, powerless; she had no choice but to accept God's will.
However, he didn't stay in the hospital for long. He took his own life. And Sneha became a widow again.
She had suffered the most. Yet, Sunder had given her a great purpose in life. He had given her the gift of a child. That child became her support.
To keep her husband's name alive, she named her son after him. Now, he was the goal, the purpose of her life.
Sneha resumed her job after the delivery. Kumar Bhai had granted her paid maternity leave.
Neela took on all the responsibility for Sunder Jr., relieving Sneha of all her worries. Because of her, Sneha performed her duties without any anxiety or fear.
As soon as he was born, keeping the past history in mind, I had his eyes checked. I was very cautious and vigilant to ensure that what had happened to my son would not happen to my grandson.
My faith in God remained unshaken.
