If we are in power, then it was given to us by the people only, then it is our moral obligation to respect their feelings, and listen to their opinions without any ego;
If we are giving anything to them, it is not from our own pockets, but from the government's treasury.
Any kind of pilgrimage you make, and any number of religious places and monuments you build, if you don't have any empathy in your own 'person', then all your endeavours are futile, pomp and shows, hollow, and terribly faulty.
