Preaching Is Mechanical. Experience Is Religion.
Across cultures, scriptures are recited, sermons are broadcast, and spiritual quotes flood social media. The impression is that wisdom is everywhere. Yet much of this is only repetition — knowledge passed along like a machine transferring data. A preacher lifts a verse from scripture, arranges it in words, and delivers it to an audience. The audience, in turn, repeats it to others. The cycle continues endlessly. What is multiplied is not awakening, but echo.
True knowledge does not live on the tongue; it lives in the heart. Words that remain external may inspire briefly, but they do not transform. The difference between repetition and realization is the difference between describing fire and feeling its heat. When wisdom descends into one’s breath and heartbeat, when it reshapes the rhythm of life itself, it ceases to be “belief” and becomes direct experience. At that point, no external authority, no reliance on faith or dogma, is required. Experience is its own guarantee.
This is why genuine spirituality is scientific. Science depends on repeatability: if a law is true, it manifests the same way every time. Inwardly, the same applies. When the center of life stabilizes in awareness, transformation is inevitable. Failure is impossible. That certainty cannot be achieved through borrowed belief; it can only emerge when truth is lived.
Most preachers remain machines. They speak words borrowed from scriptures — the Bhagavad Gita, the Ramayana, or any other sacred text — but they have not allowed those words to burn within them. If the Gita were truly alive in a person, it would not sit in their hand as a book. It would radiate through their presence, as an energy that needs no explanation.
What the world needs is not more sermons, but a culture of living truth. Read scriptures, yes; listen to teachers, yes. But then, test every word within yourself. Do not stop at hearing. Enter into living. When knowledge is lived, it dissolves the need for faith, belief, or authority. Religion then ceases to be a doctrine and becomes experience. And only experience carries the weight of truth.
