🕯️ The Night of Ganpati Visarjan and a Close Call
It was nighttime, and we were all set for Ganpati Visarjan. I had organised everything, as usual — from the decorations to the board, and making sure every Puja in our house runs smoothly. I love arranging these things; it gives me a sense of peace and control, and seeing everything come together always makes me happy.
I was wearing a flowing suit that night, feeling festive and a little dreamy. The house was lit with candles, arranged carefully as part of the decoration. Everything looked beautiful — the flickering flames, the gentle light bouncing off the walls, and the soft, devotional music in the background. It felt like magic.
Then, out of nowhere, disaster almost struck. As I moved around, my flowing suit got too close to the candles, and the fabric caught fire! I screamed and froze for a second — it all happened so fast. My heart was racing, and for a moment, I thought, “This is it, I’m going to get burned!”
But somehow, I managed to jump into the surging water nearby, trying to put out the flames. The suit was burnt in parts, but thankfully, I didn’t get hurt. Honestly, I felt like it was a miracle — like God himself had saved me from serious injury. I stood there, soaked, a little shaken, but safe, and I realized how lucky I was.
The rest of the night went on, and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. It was a scary moment, yes, but also a reminder of how precious life is, how quickly things can go wrong, and how sometimes, protection comes when you least expect it. That night, while performing the Puja and celebrating Ganpati Visarjan, I felt an extra layer of gratitude — for safety, for family, and for the little miracles that happen every day.
