My Shattered Heart
What can I say today, my heart is broken in pain,
I'm lost for words, and cannot express my strain.
We met by chance, on unfamiliar roads,
And my bad times were sweetened by your gentle abodes.
You unlocked my heart, and entered with ease,
In my barren soul, you brought life to please.
You showered love like rain, on my desert heart,
And asked to stay with me, never to depart.
But one day, you suddenly ended it all,
Leaving me restless, with a shattered wall.
I know you're unhappy too, yet I must confess,
Returning to the past is not an easy progress.
Neither of us is wrong, yet this is our fate,
You'll move on, but I remain, in this broken state.
Why did you enter my heart, if you had to leave?
Why make me accustomed to your love, and then deceive?
Your presence or absence never bothered me,
But losing you became my greatest anxiety.
No matter the wound, I never shed a tear,
But when you left, my eyes were filled with sorrow and fear.
Now you're suffering too, in your own pain,
And I'm standing here, with a heart in vain.
My fears came true, and I feel deceived,
But no more tears will fall, my heart is relieved.
No one will occupy my heart again,
The wounds will heal, but the scars will remain.
