The Red Car

Below, below the window pane,
I peeped to watch awhile.
I heard a music quite insane,
Down the lane, a mile.

I saw a pretty sheeny car,
Honking at the door.
Since it was a little far,
I could have seen some more.

Passion red, a royal class,
The model looked so hot.
A shiny one with tinted glass,
Marooned from the lot.

Uncle Jonny got it new,
From the showroom floor.
Right infront of uncle's view,
It stood guarding the door.

A glint of pride in uncle's eyes,
Spoke how glad he was.
The bran new vehicle with its price,
Was the only cause.

Uncle Jonny loved the way,
His vehicle called him out.
The ruddy car has made his day,
A tingling roundabout.

Once a while he called me down,
To flaunt his vehicle class.
I too drove it through the town,
While uncle felt nervous.

I made him sit with seat belts tied,
And rushed it through the lanes.
Uncle Jonny thrilled the ride,
With perplexed set of brains.

He yelled in fits with true aghast,
Stop it oh my boy.
You may hit through mortal crust,
It's not a children's toy.

I grinned at uncle's scary face,
How deep he loved his car.
I too drove a shuddry race,
And took him yet more far.

In about an hour's drive,
When uncle felt so dry.
I planned to take him back alive,
Neatly driving by.

When we reached his golden door,
He gave a gasp to faint.
His reddy car still held the floor,
Without a tinge of dent.

Uncle Jonny loved me true,
Though I played him fool.
He lived alone; as I do,
In this mortal pool.
