सामना उनसे
--
जब दिल-ए-बेकल में आलम-ए-ग़म बस्ता सामना उनसे
ख़ामुशी से वादी-ए-ख़ल्वत ये रास्ता जमाना नहीं होता।
सहर की रौशनी में तारों का इंतिज़ार बता वाकया उनसे
ज़ुल्मत-ए-शब चीरता है नूर-ए-यार पराया नहीं होता।
उम्र-ए-मौज-ए-दरिया में बस्ती है सुकून-ए-रूह उनसे
वस्ले-ए-ग़म से आज़ाद-ए-फ़ितना-ओ-फ़सूह नहीं होता।
होता तो सैर-ए-जंगल में बुलबुल-ए-ख़ामोश की सदा उनसे
दिल को देती है इक लम्हा-ए-ख़ुद-ब-ख़ुद रिहा नहीं होता।
शबनम-ए-गुल पर झिलमिलाता है वाह नूर-ए-हुस्न उनसे,
फ़ितरत-ए-कायनात में बसता है आह रब का जुनून नहीं होता।
आलम-ए-बे-ख़ौफ़ में बा-परिंदों का आशियाँ नहीं होता
हर दुख-ए-दिल से दूर है वो जहॉं रंगीनिया नहीं होता।
सब्ज़-ज़ारों में खो गया दिल-ए-नातवाँ बेजार अभी नहीं होता,
वहाँ न ग़म का ज़हर, न दुनिया का इम्तिहाँ कभी नहीं होता।
सयाह नफरत-ए-ख़ामोश में चमकता है चाँदनी जीउनको भी
रूह-ए-आशिक़ हो शायद रौशन वस्ल ज़िंदगी नहीं होता।
ज़ौक़-ए-फ़ितरत में डूब कर पाई आज़ादी बताह उनकों भी
ख़ौफ़-ओ-ख़तर से दूर वो दिल की सैरगाह नहीं होता।
’ख़ामुश’ तू फ़ितरत-ए-हुस्न ओ हके गुलाम नहीं होता
सुकून-ए-मंसूह का है बस यही वो मक़ाम नहीं होता ।

They find that all of this is but a dream.
Just as people wander through markets without attachment to material things, a wise person remains unattached even in the midst of a village, seeing it as if it were a forest.
