Hello everyone! Here's the next part of this series.
So till now, we discussed about our difficulties and insecurities we face everyday. There are people who suffer much more than what we could ever imagine. Struggling for so many years has made you tired, weak, but not defeated.
People have different perspectives about life. Some people say that life is a journey, for a person who believes in science, life is just a simulation. For a beggar, it's his survival. But ever thought that a beggar, who has no ambition, no dream, no purpose, just wanders around, still wants to live. One can understand that a person who has responsibilities, goals, purpose to do something for the family or for the nation or someone who dreams to live a better future must live to fulfill his dreams. But why a beggar with no ambition has to live? For what is he living? Has this question ever come to your mind??
Our life is like a flower. Just as a flower has petals, we have our belongings and attachments. With every loss, we lose one of our belongings and so does a flower loses it's petals.
But this does not answer the question of why a beggar with no ambition and purpose is still living? There's only one word and that is HOPE.
Even in our most difficult time, we still manage to deal with our challenges and move on in life because of HOPE. We lose our attachments. Someone lost their father, mother or both. Someone lost their siblings. Someone lost their loved ones. Some people lose their job, their achievements, their beloved things and memories. A beggar has nothing to lose except hope. A hope that there will be some change in his life. Hope that some miracle shall bring better days in a life full of struggle.
Ask yourself, why do you live?? Why do you even want to live??
Honestly speaking, no one in this world is completely happy. Everyone has faced their greatest setbacks, downfalls, failures. But it's the HOPE to stand again and comeback is what makes us alive.
ATTITUDE TOWARDS YOUR LIFE
How do you see your life? Tough, miserable, ugly, difficult?
Some people think that peace will make their life better. But peace is temporary, struggle is permanent.
When you fail, you cry, you become disappointed, thinking that you cannot do anything in life. During such times, peace is needed. Peace is just to calm your mind, to divert your mind from these failures, to move on from your failures. But in reality, there is a world where everyone is struggling, fighting, working hard just like you to fulfill their dreams.
I am an engineering student, so of course I saw the movie "3 idiots".
Let us forget about healing for a moment and think the characters in this film: Rancho and his professor Virus.
Rancho is positive, independent, dreams more. There's a famous dialogue of Rancho in this film: "Don't run behind success, run behind excellence, success will automatically run towards you..."
Now, let's see the character of Rancho's professor, Virus
Virus is highly experienced, more practical, more grounded to the reality. There's a dialogue said by Virus in this film: "Life is race. If you don't run faster, then someone else will crush you and move forward".
Try to compare these two characters, one says to run for excellence, while other says that life is like a race. Which one should we go with???
In this world, everyone is competing with each other to get a better life. If you fail and just focus on healing from that failure, others will move much ahead of you and you will be always struck on healing. Healing is just a way to learn and move on from the failures.
So we should not heal? No, you must heal but you should come back in the game. Life is actually a race where everyone is fighting, running, struggling for success, fame and money. If you want this success, you have to run faster.
So this means Virus is correct. But is Rancho wrong?
Of course not. Rancho believes in acquiring knowledge and excellence rather than to complete. When you get knowledge and excellence in something, you become more skillfull. The more skills you get, quicker the success will run for you. Because then people will find you more worthy for the job. If you learn to code and excell in coding, you will definitely become a good software engineer. If you learn how to write stories, you can be a good writer. If you learn how to lead, you can be a great CEO and a leader.
You see, both Rancho and Virus talk about life and success. It's their attitude and approach towards life and success that makes them different. One tells that by acquiring knowledge and excellence, exploring with positive attitude, you will achieve success. While the other one says, life is competition, the one who is strongest, fittest, fastest shall survive the race and get success.
One is more positive, while the other one is practical and real. By using any one or both ways, you can be successful.
THE RANCHO WAY
Rancho tells us to seek excellence, then success will run for us. But how to seek this excellence in life?
When we were small, we learnt to walk. Then we learnt to talk, learnt to run, learnt to jump. In school we learnt about subjects and in college we learnt about our courses in depth. So you see, it been a long time since we are learning....
But why learning is so special? It is because learning help us understand, connect and apply whatever we learnt, in our life. If you are a good learner, you are successful.
Learning from our mistakes, our failures and tackling our difficulties using what we learnt help us deal with our most difficult times. But how to build this learning attitude inside us....?
Firstly, a learner is always humble. No ego, no arrogance, purely down to earth. To build this humbleness, you have to accept that you can fail, you can make mistakes, because if you don't make mistakes, then how will you learn.....
Once you get humble, next question comes, what should I learn?
Learn anything new, it can be an art like singing, dancing, acting, drawing, painting, cooking etc. . You can learn anything that improves your intelligence like learning about science, engineering, medical science, psychology, list keeps on going.....
If you are into jobs, then learn the skills required for jobs like coding, machinery....
The key point here is not what you learn, it's HOW YOU LEARN.....
And to learn something, you must have a teacher with you to guide you, to rectify you, to tell you about your mistakes... For Rancho, books were his real teacher.
Whatever you learn, just connect it with yourself, as if it's something that is going to help you for a long term.
And lastly apply, whatever you learn, you must apply it wherever and whenever required. Once when you apply it, you will realise the importance of learning... But remember, even in application, you can make mistakes and it is completely ok.. just learn and never repeat it back.
Explore new things in life, learn whatever you heart says to learn. Heart says to play guitar, learn to play guitar. Heart says to learn about business, learn business. Heart says to write a motivational story, write a motivational story.....
Experiment your own life. This is very important. When a glass is half filled, some people say it's half filled. Some people say that the glass is half empty. Someone will say it's the water taking shape of the glass...
Their are number of ways to look for your problems, so try new ways to figure out your difficulties and experiment in your life.
Be proud of what you are learning because some people couldn't afford to learn. If you can't afford anything to learn, just learn how to keep yourself fit...
By this, you can definitely achieve what you want in life. This kind of learning attitude not only makes you humble but also maintains your inner peace and balance. Once you learn and achieve what you wanted, look back at the journey, the failures you went through, still you got up to learn and tried a new way to move ahead in life... That's how Rancho grew and so shall you.
THE VIRU SAHASTRA BUDDHE (VIRUS) WAY
Now let's see our villains perspective. Virus says that life is a race, if you don't run faster, others will crush you to move forward. This line is so true about our current life. Everyone is competing, trying their best to win in their lives.
Imagine you are going for a job interview. With you, there's another woman who came for the interview. You have all the skills. The woman might not have all the skills but have enough for the job. You both give the interview. After few weeks, you get to know that you failed your interview and she got the job. Why she got the job? Because she's a woman that's why? Of course not. Because she prepared more than you for this interview.
You see the reason why people fail because they don't work hard, they don't grind hard for their goals. Instead, their competitor works hard and gets the reward. The competitor can work hard infront of the crowd or he can work hard in silence.
Let's take one more example. I had a friend named Saksham. We both are studious, score good marks in exams. But because we both are at equal level in studies, we have a healthy competition. We had our maths exam. Saksham said he didn't learn anything. I also said I did not learn anything. After the exam when the results came, I scored more marks than him. Why? Because I prepared harder than him.
Similarly in your life, for your goal, for your dream job, you will have competitors. These competitors could be strangers, your friends, your relatives or your siblings. To achieve success, hardwork is needed. If you don't believe me, watch Bhaag Milkha Bhaag....
Ever watched Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta story, in that series, Harshad Mehta says to invest in cheetah, because it's the fastest. He meant that in stock market, the one who invests and withdraws the fastest, gains the largest profit.
In corporate, your boss will not give entire work to you, he will divide it. If you are slow, your colleagues will finish the task before you. Then the boss will fire you.
We all know that fastness has always lead to advancements. During the medieval period, kings and queens shared their thoughts by tying letters to the pigeon which reached after weeks. Later came technology and came SMS, a faster solution for text communication. Now whatsapp, social media are much quicker than sms... fastness leads to advancements
In your life, how fast you make decisions will decide whether you'll survive or not. Whether it's your life problems, your job problems, your family problems, your quick decision saves you your time...
Being fit is another requirement for the competition. Once a great naturalist and biologist Sir Charles Darwin said "Survival of the fittest". It means that only the fittest can survive the evolution...
But what kind of fitness is needed? Is it about the physical fitness, or mental fitness, or fitting for the requirement of a job, or fitting for a leader, CEO, or fitting to be a good family man.....
Being fit for something is like you are capable for what you want. To be a CEO, you must be capable to be a leader. To be a software engineer, you must be capable of coding. To be a good family man, you must be able to take responsibility for everything. If you can lead better than others, you are more fit than them to be the CEO, if you have more coding skills than others, you are more fit to be a software engineer.
Imagine a running race taking place after a month. 10 runners have participated for this race. Who is more possible to win -
The one who who didn't practice much, who is not fast, not fit or the one who is more fit and worked hard for a month to win?
Of course the 2nd person. Same goes in our life. We all make friends, share memories. But at the end we all are competing against each other to win a better life.
Virus once said among the students, a cuckoo bird never makes a nest. Instead it lays it's eggs on crow's nest. And when the crow lays the eggs, it purposely breaks the cuckoo's egg to for the crow's eggs to survive. Compete, or die......
Competition has it's own benifits. You get a lot experience. When friends are competing against you, you get to see their true nature, their true character, their reality. Competition makes you mentally tough. It builds a fighting mindset within you which helps you to deal with your problems. Even if you fail, you still have to compete with others or else you'll be left behind.
We see that both the ways lead to success. It's their approach that makes them a bit different. Try these ways in your life. Experiment with your own life and check what suits you the best...
You can use these both ways simultaneously to reach your goal. You have to compete, but don't compete for success, don't compete to finish the race. Instead, compete to achieve great excellence and knowledge.
I personally use the Rancho's way when I need to learn something new in my life. This attitude makes life more fun and enjoyable. Whereas for thing which I am already good at like dancing, I choose the competitive way to win.
Whenever it comes to learning, be like Rancho. But whenever someone tries to flex their skills or become arrogant, humble them by becoming Viru Sahastra Buddhe...
Let's comeback to healing. From the above discussion, I think you realised what healing is all about, healing is to learn and move on from the failures. Also you learnt about the approach one must take to reach where they want to reach....
So, in the first part of this series, we discussed about figuring out your failures. After this, listening to music, meeting people, doing workout etc...
Now, after you figured out your failure, try figuring out what alternative action you could have done during that time such that you wouldn't have failed at that moment. Try what actions you could have done rather than your past ones to stop the failing.
Once you get the alternative, listen to music, workout, spend some time outside with friends and family, for few days.
Once you feel better, you must quickly come back into your game. The world will not wait for you....
So quickly get ready, to run for what you want in life, learning builds knowledge. Competition creates drive. Use them both to be undefeated in life.
But people, use this kind psychology for a few days, few weeks and then forget about their goals. What makes people forget about their goals are their distractions. Your girlfriend/boyfriend, your friends, social media. These all are distractions. Another reason why people lack the consistency is because of addictions. Addictions can be of different types - smoking, drinking, drugs, masturbation, addiction of lust, money. Addiction of social media scrolling etc.. Once you get to know how to overcome these things, you'll have more focused, crystal clear, sharp mindset which will make you your best version...
Distractions and addictions will be discussed in the next part.....
Till then,
Stay positive, learn, compete, conquer.
I'm proud of you.....
