The Wicked Man - Ranjan kumar Desai

                   The Wicked Man

I was in the hospital again.  The need for electroshock therapy arose once more.

Sitting on a bench in the hospital, Anurag was lost in the past.

Just then, a familiar voice struck his ears.

'You don't know what's ahead, you don't know what's behind,

Whatever there is, it's just this one moment.'

Vipul entered the ward humming the film song.

Seeing him, Anurag questioned him.  "Did you see ' waqt '?"

But he was recalling a scene he had recently seen in the film:

"Those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones at others, Chinoy Seth."

This dialogue of Raj Kumar had deeply affected Vipul.

In this state of mind, he neither saw his friend nor heard what he said!

When Anurag asked the question again, he nodded in affirmation.

       Then Anurag asked:

       "How many times?"

       "Six times!" he replied.

Anurag twice had accompanied him on his request.

"A person who exploits the happiness of others for their own selfish motive is called a villain."

For some reason, Vipul had developed a habit of blaming himself for every misfortune. This attitude caused him immense pain.

Everything happens according to God's will. Not even a leaf moves against His will. This is what Anurag wanted to explain to his friend, but Vipul couldn't grasp it.

Everyone has good and bad qualities within them. In the race of emotions, he had trespassed, and realization  came to him late. Yet, he never became a villain.

He apologized to Aruna by touching her feet!

Rekha had a had tied rakhi on his wrist.

And he had taken an oath with his hand on Garima's head.

He had always behaved impeccably. Yet, those who were close to him, dressed in fine clothes, humiliated him. They spread all sorts of rumors.

Because of this, some girls stopped associating with him.

Vipul had developed a negative image.  The rumor was that he chased every girl. Hearing this, all the girls stayed away from him

Vipul had developed a certain image. He would chase after every girl. Hearing this, all the girls stayed away from him.

Garima's friend had bestowed the title of villain upon Vipul.

He was feeling better. The two friends were talking. He had been labeled a villain. This bothered Vipul. He would become sad because of it.

At that time, Anurag would reassure him.

"Someone who sheds tears for the pain and sorrow of others can never be a villain."

Hearing his friend's words, Vipul's face lit up. He declared, resting his head on his father's lap on the hospital bench:

"Dad! I'm perfectly fine. And I want to go home."

"I'll get your discharge tomorrow morning."

But you can't go forward, nor can you go backward.

At seven o'clock, Rashmi entered the hospital with a tiffin box for her brother. And the two friends pounced on the batata vada.

At that time, the news of a young woman being taken to the operation theater on a stretcher went viral throughout the hospital.

She was brought out of the operation theater.  She was being transferred to the ward. At that moment, Vipul's eyes fell upon the young woman. Her husband was also with her.

Seeing her face, the whole world seemed to spin before Vipul's eyes.

If everything is under God's control, then why did He make Garima disabled just a few days after her marriage?

His faith in God had died.

He felt as if the whole world had become his enemy.

And he lost his mental balance again.

Seeing his condition, the doctors rushed to him.
