Veer's eyes were clouded with anger as he stood in the empty bride's room. Besides his sister's belongings and the haphazardly thrown bridal paraphernalia, he didn't find anything to help him locate his sister.
Ishita was missing, and her phone was unreachable. He couldn't locate her, and neither could his men, who hadn't stopped searching for her even for a moment.
Veer clenched his fists tight, his nails digging into his skin. "Bring her here," he ordered, his voice deathly low and commanding.
Aryan brows drew together into a frown, confused by his friend's sudden instruction. "Who?"
"Bring that woman here," Veer repeated, giving him a look that made Aryan hold back his retorts. "The one we met in the corridor some time ago."
"Ahh..." Aryan didn't know why Veer was interested in a stranger all of a sudden. Yet, he didn't question him and went looking for her himself.
Meanwhile, not knowing anything about the chaos that had erupted in the courtyard, Saanvi continued to hog the food to her heart's content. After all, it wasn't every day that she had the opportunity to eat such delicacies.
Saanvi licked her lips, ending her dinner with a cup of ice cream. Her eyes crinkled in satisfaction. 'If I can have such good food, I don't mind waiting until the end of the event to get paid,' she thought as she returned to the main hall.
But she stopped short when she heard the commotion around her. Everyone was speaking in hushed voices. Nobody dared to talk louder as if they would invite their damnation by just speaking loudly.
Perplexed, she returned to her team, who looked equally perturbed.
"Sharma, where were you?" her supervisor questioned harshly and Saanvi's frown deepened.
"I was at the dining hall." She gave her other colleagues a questioning look, who returned it by shaking their heads.
"Why didn't you answer me?"
"I..." Saanvi's eyes widened when she realized she had removed her earpiece while eating.
"You are in great trouble," the supervisor hissed.
"What? What did I do?"
"There you are..."
Saanvi turned around when she heard a familiar voice behind her. She recognized the man instantly. He was the man she had met in the corridor when she had collided with Veer Rathore.
Aryan Malhotra, Veer's friend.
"May I help you?" Saanvi asked, not understanding why the man was looking for her.
"Come with me."
"What?" Saanvi was baffled. She wasn't the supervisor of the event. If he wanted to hold someone at fault, it had to be the woman standing beside her, donning a nervous face.
"Come with me. Be quick. Otherwise, I can't guarantee your safety." Aryan looked at her anxiously, explaining how important the matter was.
"Umm..."
"Please."
"Sharma, go." The supervisor pushed her and Saanvi stumbled, shocked by her supervisor's rude behavior.
"You..." The woman might be her supervisor, but Saanvi wasn't the one who accepted disrespect.
"Miss, please come with me before the bomb explodes." Aryan nudged her from behind, and Saanvi relented, not knowing what was happening.
Trying to catch up with him, Saanvi fired questions repeatedly.
"May I know where you're taking me?"
"What happened?"
"Why are you looking for me?"
"I'm just an intern. Shouldn't you look for the person in charge if there is a problem?"
"I think you've got the wrong person."
Aryan didn't respond to any of her questions and led her to the bridal room.
"What..."
Saanvi stopped speaking when she saw Veer inside the room, looking livid as if he was about to blow everything up soon.
Veer glared at her, making her gulp in fright. Yet, she didn't show any fear and looked back at him confidently.
"Mr. Rathore, may I know why I was brought here?" Since Aryan didn't answer her questions, she turned to the other man in the room.
Veer narrowed his eyes and examined her. "Where is she?"
"Where is who?" Saanvi had no idea what he was speaking about and looked at him as if he had lost a head.
Veer took a step towards her, his aura turning dark and furious. "Where is Ishita?"
"Are you talking about the bride?" Saanvi asked, finding the entire situation ridiculous. " How would I know?"
"Where is Ishita?" Veer seethed and Saanvi looked at him, annoyed.
"Look, Mister, I told you I don't know. And why are you asking me?" Saanvi couldn't fathom why they were asking her when she didn't know Ishita. They weren't even acquaintances for him to question her.
"You were the only one in this corridor before Ishita went missing."
"And you believe I kidnapped her?" Saanvi found his words utterly absurd.
"Or...help her escape from the engagement," Veer prompted.
"I don't know what misunderstanding happened here. I haven't met your sister nor have I helped her in anything. You are better off searching for her, instead of wasting your time on me." Saanvi raised her hands in frustration.
"You better tell me where she is or it won't do you any good."
"You've got to be kidding me." Saanvi was exasperated. "I have no idea where she is. I'm done here." She turned to leave the room, only for Veer to block her path.
"You aren't leaving until you answer my questions. Where is my sister?"
Saanvi sighed deeply and mumbled, "Looks like I can't leave without putting up a fight." Rolling her eyes, she smiled sweetly, hoping the man would believe her. "I have told you, Mr. Rathore. I don't know where your sister is. I haven't met her today or any day. Heck, we don't know each other at all."
"You may lie all you want but you can't trick me." Veer didn't listen to her, his anger getting the best of him.
Saanvi was losing her mind. The man was adamant and wasn't thinking rationally at all. "How about this? There must be CCTV cameras here. Can't you track your sister?"
"Oh, we will. Don't worry." Veer looked at her as if she was dead meat. "Once we do, I'm going to show you what I am capable of."
"What the heck..."
Saanvi stopped speaking when Veer's phone rang. It was then she noticed that Aryan had slipped out of the room sometime during their argument.
"Veer, we found something from the CCTV. You may want to take a look at this."
