Trembling Shadows
A romantic, psychological thriller

On many a time he had a strong foreboding of future events and later on they became true. On that day as well when his parents so tragically died in the plane crash he could be known about that in before itself. He had seen the falling plain onto the earth and turning itself into many pieces and eruption of flames in his vision. He had seen the mutilated bodies of his parents before they became like that in that accident. He tried all his level best not to let them go. His mother was convinced and became ready to stop but his father was adamant. He insisted on their going so then. Later it had happened like that.
“What you are thinking that deeply here?” He could not be known that Sameera’s coming into the place where he was.
“When you have come here?” looking into her face impersonally he asked. It made her happy as there was some mild and love expression in his face and voice again.
“Just five minutes back. I am waiting when you come into this world again. At last it happens.” hissing out heavily she said.
“You did a nice thing by coming here” laughing heartily he said. “I have become a victim of torturing thoughts and I can get rid at least some of them now”
Sameera felt very much happier as his mood was changed into like that. She could not expect this type of a change that fast at all.
“I am feeling very happy” she said and paused a moment before saying “Are you still angry with me as I have gone through your book so?” she asked trying to look into his face which was turned into a different direction then.
Then he turned his face and looked into her eyes. There was lot of love and affection in them which moved him instantly and even he tried to be little different he could not maintain himself like that. “Not at all Sameera.” He paused while continuing looking into her face so. “In fact I want to be quite angry with you. If it is anyone else I would not easily excuse them. But I cannot say why” he paused once again as if he did not know what to say.
“Tell me Aravind. I want to hear. Why you cannot be angry with me even you intend to be” her lips parted with a small smile as she anticipated a little why it was so.
“I just cannot be angry with you. I may have to analyze myself why it is so to me” turning his face again into a different direction he said.
“You need not worry about for any analysation. May I say why it is like that, why you cannot be angry with me?”
Hearing that he looked into her face again as if asking her to tell him why it was so.
“You are also in love with me Aravind. You cannot be angry on those with whom you are in love even they do things which may get you angry.”
Aravind nodded his head in negation. “Mine is not a loving type. I cannot love anyone at all. I don’t think it is love at all.” But his voice was not firm. It seemed that he was doubting himself what he said.
“But I am confirmed that it is love. You may not know yourself but I know that. I can say that looking into your face, into your eyes.” She paused a moment before continuing “You must know I am as well loving you even more”.
He felt embarrassed as she was looking straight into his face and said that. He wanted to deny what she had said but he could not do that looking into her face. It was the most beautiful face he had seen upto then. In fact he had wished a lot that this girl would talk to him while he was staying in their house. But all that time she only hated him for the reasons best known to her. Even then too he could not get anger with her. But why she suddenly started loving him like this he could not understand at all.
“I know that you have hated me a lot until recently. You never liked me until we came into this place. Why did you have started liking me in this way? Are you not acting with me to make me more and more worrisome later? If you don’t like my staying in your home please let me know. I shall go somewhere else. But I just cannot bear love dramas at all.” it was difficult to him to talk like that but he thought it was necessary.
He had seen a change in her as if she had got an electric shock. Lot of dismay and worry crept into her face after he said so. She hung her head but he could see tears flowing down on her cheeks. He perched her head up with his index finger and with the same finger wiped her tears. “I am so sorry if I hurt you. But is it is not true that you hated me?” there is no rigidity in his gaze then. His facial expression and voice were quite soft.
“I have tried to hate you Aravind but I never really could hate you. I hate everything that my parents like. You are a favorite to my parents so I have tried to hate you too but I could not do that. I have analysed myself and realized that I never can hate you. I had got a good impression and a liking at the very first sight of you. Those feelings had come from my subconscious. It is impossible to me to hate you. At the same time it is impossible to me not to love you either.” Her voice was chocked as she was talking. He could sense the sincerity in her voice.
“I am so sorry that I have hurt your feelings in this way. I am really feeling very happy that I have got love of a beautiful girl like you” looking into her face without turning his gaze he said. In fact it had become indeed difficult to him to turn his gaze from her then. She was appearing a lot more beautiful than before. The small gold ring she got on her left side nostril making her even more luring to him. With the exercise of inhaling and exhaling her little pointed beautiful nose becoming widen and thin. Her mouth ajared a little and he could see her small white teeth in it. He had got a strong desire to kiss on the slightly opened mouth but he did not. He was not a type to advance that easily.
“Aravind if you don’t mind I want to ask you one thing” Sameera thought that was the most appropriate time to broach the subject she wanted.
“I would not mind whatever you may ask. You have every liberty to ask whatever you want. I think loves would have the freedom and right to ask the lovers whatever they want.” The smile on his lips eased her tension.
“Then I shall ask you straight. Why did you have kept such a book in your suitcase? Why you are showing interest in those shadowy matters? What good they do to you? Is it is not possible to you to leave all that and lead a normal life?” at one stretch she asked all she wanted fearing that she could not ask later if she did not do that then.
“Sameera” his voice suddenly became a little harsher and loud “This is the only thing I cannot bear be interfered with anyone.”
“But I am your love and I am the person who wants your welfare all the time. It is certainly possible to live happily and contently without going after such type of things. Leave all that and we can lead a lot peaceful and normal life” Sameera was trying to make her voice steady and firm.
“I just cannot bear even the thought of leaving my favorite shadow world. I never can. If you cannot bear with me with my interest in shadow world forget about me. That is all.” with a firm voice he said.
Sameera did not say anything then. She did not want to either. But she had become confident that she could change him. She knew what she should do to make him completely her man and listen to her. She remembered what Sunanda said to her ‘give it to him’. Now she had become completely ready to give him that and mould him in the way she wanted.

“Oh, this is the one more room in this big house where we can spend our time.” Sunanda making herself comfortable in the chair laid in that room said. It was the room of the old woman. Sunanda and Sameera sat in the chairs laid in the room of the old woman. “How you three are feeling in this room? You and your parents were settled in it as soon as we entered into this house.”
“I don’t know how my parents are feeling but I am feeling a little more fear to stay in this room. Are not you feeling anything like that to stay here?” looking into the four directions uneasily Sameera said.
Sunanda laughed her beautiful laugh before saying “I am feeling just like I have felt in the other places of this house. We are just imagining things. In my opinion there is no wrong with this old woman or this room or this big house”
“Are you that much sure? How you can be assured so?” with a lot of confusion Sameera asked her.
“In the first place I have no belief at all in devils like things. There is no paranormal or evil either in this house or with this old woman or anywhere else so there is no necessity to agitate ourselves at all” with firm voice Sunanda said.
“Is it is the same Sunanda who made everyone except the old woman in the house jump and run to their might to reach you in the kitchen talking like this?” trying to suppress her smile Sameera said.
“Oh, I have forgotten about that completely” Sunanda hissed heavily and said again. “Sameera I am telling you frankly until I have faced such an experience in the kitchen so, I have no belief in these devils etc.”
“Anyhow you are taking back your saying that you have no belief at all in devils etc.” Sameera asked without turning her gaze from the face of Sunanda.
“What else I can do? I am taking back what I have said. But I cannot say why it is so, I am not at all feeling any uneasiness or fear in this room”
“Of course, I am too not feeling any uneasiness or fear here for the present” Sameera said. “But this place and this old woman are appearing a lot odd to me”
“All right, then” there was some silence. “I have seen you talking with Aravind. It seems that it is going quite well with you both now. What you have talked?” Sunanda asked.
“It is confirmed that he as well is in love with me” there was happiness in her tone while she was saying that.
“It is indeed very great news” almost yelling Sunanda said. “But I have expected this. It is not at all affordable to lose you to anyone however handsome and intelligent he is. You are such a glamorous doll!”
“Stop it there. I don’t like such type of talking at all” It was not just then but every time her beauty praised so, Sameera would get irritation like that.
“All right. I am not going to say anything about you now.” She paused and asked “Is everything alright with you both now?”
“Not everything is alright. In that witch-cult matter he is so adamant and not listening me at all. For that one thing he is even ready to forsake my love.” Suddenly there was distress and dismay in her voice.
