वेद वाणी 6-53-1
वयमु त्वा पथस्पते रथं न वाजसातये। धिये पूषन्नयुज्महि॥ ऋग्वेद ६-५३-१॥
हे सर्व पोषक एवं मार्ग के स्वामी पूषन देव**, जिस प्रकार शीघ्रता से दूर जाने के लिए वेग से चलने वाले वाहन का प्रयोग करते है, उसी प्रकार हमे ज्ञान देने वाली बुद्धि एवं ऐश्वर्य देने वाले कर्म वेग से प्राप्त होवें। हम योग्याभ्यास द्वारा समाहित चित्त से आपका ध्यान करते है।
**(पूषन, वैदिक काल के देवता हैं। वे आदित्यों में से एक हैं। ये पथप्रदर्शक देवता माने जाते हैं। ऐसी मान्यता है कि अकस्मात यात्रा मे आने वाले संकटो का तुरंत निवारण करते है। इन्हें विवाह का देवता भी कहा जाता है।)
O all nurturer and lord of the path, Pushan Dev**, just as we use a speedy vehicle to move away quickly, in the same way may the wisdom that gives us knowledge and actions that give opulence be attained with speed. We meditate on you with a mind absorbed by yogic practice.
**(Pushan is the deity of Vedic period. He is one of the Adityas. He is considered to be the guiding deity. It is believed that he immediately removes the troubles that come in the journey. He is also called the God of marriage. )
