वेद वाणी 6-48-11
आ सखायः सबर्दुघां धेनुमजध्वमुप नव्यसा वचः।
सृजध्वमनपस्फुराम् ॥ऋग्वेद ६-४८-११॥
हे मित्रो गायो की नवीन-नवीन स्तुति करो अथवा गायों को श्रीसूक्त आदि स्तुति सुनायें ताकि वें हमे पोषक दुग्ध देवें। गायों को बिना किसी हानि पहुंचाए बन्धन मुक्त रखें अर्थात गायों के लिए अलग चारागाह बना कर उन्हें वहाँ स्वतन्त्र विचरण करने देवें।
O friends, praise the cows by reciting new songs or recite the hymns of Shri Sukta etc. to the cows so that they may give us nutritious milk. Keep the cows free from bondage without causing any harm, that is, by making a separate pasture for the cows, let them move freely there.
