The last time I went to a bookstore, I noticed a boy who instantly picked 4–5 books. I was quite surprised because that day I had bought only two books, and it had taken me almost an hour and a half to choose them.

At first, I felt happy seeing that there were others like me — that today’s young generation still takes an interest in books.

Then I asked him if he had at least heard of Mitch Albom. He replied, “Unfortunately, no.”

After that, I stopped talking to him and went back to selecting my own books.

The surprising thing was that on top of his chosen books was Tuesdays with Morrie — Mitch Albom’s most famous work.

It’s quite disappointing that most young people today see books merely as decorative items. Their connection with books often goes no further than taking pictures of them to post on social media.
