શિવતત્વ - (શિવપુત્ર ગણેશ) ભારતના અધ્યાત્મ વિજ્ઞાનનો સાર શિવપુરાણની કથા છે કે ભગવાન શિવ તપોવનમાં તપ કરવા જતા રહે છે. શિવપુત્ર કાર્તિકેય પણ દેવ સેનાના સેનાપતિ હોવાના નાતે યુદ્ધ લડવામાં વ્યસ્ત હોય છે. જેથી પાર્વતી કૈલાસ પર એકલાં પડે છે. એકલતા વશ પાર્વતી કંટાળો અનુભવે છે અને કોઈનો સાથ ઈચ્છે છે. જેથી પાર્વતી પોતાના શરીરના મેલથી એક પુત્રને રચે છે. અને તેમાં પોતાની દૃષ્ટિ કરી તેને સજીવન કરી જન્મ આપે છે. તે પુત્ર એ જ શ્રીગણેશ.
