SHE - CHAPTER 4

Madhavi was sitting quietly in a corner of her room. In front of her was a small sacred fire, and she was softly chanting some mantras. The air was filled with the faint scent of incense, and there was a strange vibration in the atmosphere. Her gaze was fixed on the old mansion visible through the window.

She kept noticing some movement in the shadows of that dark, abandoned place. A figure seemed to shift and flicker—again and again. But Madhavi wasn’t scared. She kept chanting with steady focus. There was no fear on her face, only a determined look.

She was planning something. There was clearly a deep connection between her and that mansion, and possibly with the mysterious entity inside it. Her eyes revealed that she wasn’t just involved in the engagement celebrations—she was preparing for something bigger, something hidden.

That night, when everyone was asleep, she sat again facing the mansion, whispering her mantras. She wasn’t alone—someone, or something, was with her. Unseen, but present.

"You have to take the revenge," Madhavi whispered, her voice trembling yet resolute.

The next day Madhavi and Tanvi sat in the dimly lit room, the weight of the conversation hanging heavily between them. The house was quiet, but the tension seemed to permeate every corner. Tanvi was still shaken from the night before, her mind swirling with thoughts of the old mansion and the eerie presence that seemed to haunt it.

“Madhavi,” Tanvi said slowly, her voice cautious, “I don’t know if this is the right thing. Exploring that mansion, ghosts, curses... I don’t believe in any part of it. We shouldn’t be looking into these things I think there someone a human beings similar like us ”

Madhavi, however, was undeterred. Her face hardened with resolve, the faintest glimmer of something darker flashing in her eyes. “I’ll help you, Tanvi. We have no choice but to go there. The mansion holds the answers, and you can’t run from what’s been left behind.”

Tanvi hesitated. She looked into Madhavi’s eyes and saw that her words were not just spoken out of concern. There was something more, something that Tanvi couldn’t quite place but felt deeply. Yet, something in her couldn’t deny the pull. The mansion had haunted her thoughts since the first time she saw it.

“I’ll go with you,” Tanvi whispered, almost to herself, the decision made as if her feet were already moving toward that cursed place.

As they walked toward the mansion, the air grew heavier. The wind seemed to still, as if nature itself was holding its breath. The mansion loomed in front of them, its windows dark, its walls crumbling with age and neglect. A sense of coldness seeped from it, despite the warmth of the evening.

Tanvi felt a shiver run down her spine as they approached the front door. The wooden frame was warped, the door slightly ajar as if it was inviting them inside. Madhavi didn’t hesitate, pushing it open and stepping into the darkness beyond.

"I was waiting for you" someone whispered in her ears

“Do you hear that?” Tanvi asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Madhavi shoke her hand in no She was moving forward as though she had been here before, her steps sure and swift. Tanvi followed, every step feeling like it was taking her deeper into a nightmare she couldn’t escape.

The mansion was a labyrinth of shadows and silence, the walls lined with old portraits whose eyes seemed to follow them wherever they went. Cobwebs hung in every corner, and the air was thick with the scent of mildew and decay.

As they entered a large room, Tanvi felt the temperature drop. It was as if the very air in the room had turned to ice. The room was empty except for a few broken chairs and a dusty rug that seemed to have been untouched for years. But in the corner of the room, the window was wide open, the curtains fluttering in the breeze, as if something—or someone—had been waiting for them.

Tanvi stopped in her tracks. She turned to Madhavi, her heart racing. “Madhavi, I feel like we shouldn’t be here. It’s like... something is watching us.”

Madhavi didn’t answer. Instead, she stepped forward and began whispering something under her breath. The words were strange, foreign, and Tanvi couldn’t understand them, but they felt powerful, like they were resonating with the very walls of the mansion.

The moment the words left Madhavi’s lips, the air around them seemed to shift. The temperature dropped even further, and a voice echoed in the silence, faint but unmistakable.

“You shouldn’t have come…”

Tanvi froze. Her breath caught in her throat as she scanned the room, but saw nothing. The voice had come from nowhere. She could feel her heart pounding in her chest as she clung to Madhavi’s arm.

“Madhavi, what is that? Who... who said that?” Tanvi whispered, her voice trembling.

Madhavi turned toward her, her expression unreadable. “It’s the mansion. It remembers... and it’s not happy we’ve come.”

Just as Madhavi spoke, she was throughout of the house and the mansion door got locked, "Madhavi" she screamed, Tanvi cried out, her panic rising. Tanvi was trying to open the door but it's wasn't opening she asked help of Madhavi "Wait here I'll soon with someone don't worry I'm with you" as madhvi said she turned she smiled evilly "now it is just the start..The revenge... it’s not just yours to take anymore. It’s ours.” madhavi whisper

Tanvi felt something brush past her, a cold, invisible presence that sent waves of dread through her. The air was thick with whispers, the kind that couldn’t be understood but still carried weight. Tanvi could feel something lurking just beyond the shadows, waiting.

Tanvi couldn’t understand. She wanted to leave, to escape, but something inside her—something deep—was telling her to stay. The whispers grew louder, the shadows longer, and a dark figure slowly emerged from the farthest corner of the room.

“You can’t escape me,” the voice hissed.
