She ran the tip of her tongue along her lips and made them wet and her nostrils were beautifully becoming wide and narrow with her inhaling and exhaling exercise. She went into the bathroom naked like that and opened the shower and the water from the tap started pouring on her in big frequent drops drenching all her body profusely starting with her head. After encountering her head and drenched it fully the water started downing on her body even more entering into the tiny hole of her navel from there dropping into the cavities on her thighs and on the backside flowing through the canal between her buttocks. She took the shampoo nearby and anointed her head with it profoundly and then let it washed away with the water flowing from the top on her body. Then she took the soap there and with it rubbed her body thoroughly before cleaning it with the flowing water on her body. All the time she did not like stopping the shower at all and she liked flowing water so on her body in her usual way.
Her bathing ceremony had taken nearly half an hour or so and she dried her body with the damp towel there and in the end fixed it around her body and came into the bed room again. She opened her suitcase and selected some green colour sari, the same colour petticoat and blouse with a brassiere. She could not take with her many of her dresses while she was leaving her house in a hurry.
She observed herself once again after she had dressed completely in those green colour outfit and she appeared magnanimous to herself. A small smile crossed her lips and she thought how Madan would feel if he had seen her so. That very thought created shame in her and which resulted in light rose colour on her cheeks. Suddenly the way she had run onto him on that day flashed in her mind again and she felt even more shame and which resulted in even more rose colour on her cheeks. His clutch around her body was so good to her and she forced herself to relinquish that later and her body indeed lamented for that. She felt his hot breath on her head while her breasts pressed on to his chest so.
The next memory to her was the latest kissing incident in the mango tope which was not accidental or unintentional but deliberate on both their part. She could remember with every second detail of the kiss on that day how he had pressed his mouth on her mouth, how he opened her mouth with his mouth, how his slippery tongue inserted into her mouth and how he chewed her lower lip. What a wonderful experience that was! Even after all the memories were lost with the passage of time, she was sure that this simple memory would last forever in her mind. Even in that euphoric state as well she was not unnoticeable of his act of slipping his hand into the passage between her buttocks and pressed and massaged with it there. How long that was last she did not know. That was like an eternity and she wanted that to be continued so for all the time to come but it all comes to an end with the interference of Vineet into that place. He had taken Madan along with all the happiness she had got.
The flow of her memories did not stop at that pleasant state and the further state was quite bittersome to her. Mamatha’s appearance so sudden before her and the words she had talked still were creating tremors in her.
“He must weep. He must realize what a big mistake he did. I want all your cooperation in this regard. Otherwise I have explained to you clearly what I can do.” Her words were like needle pricks.
“Oh, no.” she shuddered on remembering that. She must not let that happen so at all and the happiness she was enjoying should not be limited to a short period of time. She was going to do as she was directed. The only problem was she could not make Madan fully believe what she had said.
She closed her eyes and breathed deeply. Without obstructing she let the thought process go so. She felt sorrowful and worrying while the troublesome thoughts passed so in her mind but slowly courage and hope as well emerged in her. Suddenly she felt good and optimistic. It seemed the love she had got on Madan was giving her the courage. Her small lips decorated with her usual charming smile again and she opened her eyes with a determination. Suddenly she felt quite confident and believed that she could face that problem and solve it.

“Welcome into our kitchen. We are all waiting only for you.” Looking at Susmitha who was entering into the kitchen Jayanthi said. There were steaming coffee cups in their hands.
“Thank you.” Susmitha seated in one of the chairs around the dining table and she felt it a little hard to her bottom. She placed her both arms on the arms of the chair and gripped the ends of it with her hands and leaned back in it and looked at the people there as for searching for some one.
“For whom you are seeing like that we are all understood and where he is by now you too can understand.” Filled an empty cup with coffee and giving it to Susmitha, Vineet said.
“That means he went into to that tope as usual?” Susmitha sensed the betrayal and her forehead frowned.
“How innocently you hoped that he would follow your words letter by letter.” Pallav laughed “He very seldom deviate from following his own way.”
“But there is Mamatha and she would do harm to him.” her face masked with anxiety. “Why not you people are trying to understand me?”
“You are an educated and intelligent woman. We don’t think that you imagine things like that. But it is a difficult thing to believe.” Helplessly nodding his head Pallav said.
“But yesterday you have said that you are not completely confident that there are no devils.” With a little irritation in her voice Susmitha said.
“That does not mean I believe in devils.” Pallav said. He was troubling to say that since he knew his saying so hurt Susmitha’s feelings.
Susmitha got off from the chair she sat and came near to those three of them. She took the nearby chair, turned it to the vantage point, put herself in it and then looked into their faces.
“Now I have to tell all again. You three must cooperate with me in this, otherwise I cannot get success and save Madan.” With a pleading in her eyes she said.
Pallav, Jayanthi and Vineet looked into each other’s faces before looking at her again with surprise. Even they could not guess what she was going to say again, there was determination in them.
“We all three do whatever you want. Just open your heart.” Jayanthi said. To the three of them Susmitha was appeared different then.
As they three were observing her with wide opened eyes after giving their ears fully to her, she started saying.

Madan stealthily came out of the house since he knew if Susmitha found out that he was going into the tope, she would make a furor and could become successful in preventing him from going there. He felt relieved after he came onto the road and started walking in a slow and relaxed pace and he almost bumped into Nagaraju who came across him.
“You are going into the tope I think.” Steadying Madan with his hands Nagaraju asked.
“Where else? You know my daily habit.” Madan became irritated and whenever he met Nagaraju he was getting irritation.
“But now it is not safe to you to go into that tope.” Nagaraju whispered as if he was saying a secret.
“Why it is not safe?” Madan’s irritation doubled and he could not guess what Nagaraju was going to say.
“Mamatha is now in that mango tope. She is on the one of the tops of the mango trees.” There was fear in the face of Nagaraju.
“How she is managing herself on the top of the mango tree?” It surprised Madan that Nagaraju’s saying just like Susmitha but he could guess what he was going to say next.
“She was dead and became a devil. Is there any surprise that a devil managing itself on the top of a mango tree?” with a frown Nagaraju asked.
“There is no surprise at all.” Madan nodded his head sarcastically even it was still surprising to him that he said just in the way Susmitha said. “But I would not go on to the tops of the mango trees and surely I am not going to disturb her.”
“I can understand that.” Nagaraju said anxiously. “But Mamatha is hell bent upon doing harm to you. She is so angry with you that you have rejected her love so.”
“How can you say that? How can you say that Mamatha sure would do harm to me?” testing how much true the anxiousness in his face Madan asked.
“She said to me and she talked to me. She said that she was dead and became a devil. She said that she would take revenge on you.” except the genuineness Madan could not see anything else in his face and voice.
“Did not she say how she was dead?” feeling the quickening of his heartbeat Madan asked.
“She did not say how she was dead. She just said that she was dead and became a devil. She further said that she is quite angry with you as you have rejected her love so and she would take revenge on you.”
Madan relieved on hearing that and at the same time he came to the opinion that it was all the imagination of Nagaraju even his version was similar to Susmitha. If it was all true, Mamatha would surely have said to him that Madan had thrown her into the river even it was not the case.
“I shall take care of myself. Don’t worry about me.” Walking forward leaving Nagaraju on the back Madan said.
He involuntarily stopped after he reached onto the bridge from where Mamatha had fallen into the river. Suddenly he felt pity on her. Unknowingly a sort of guilty feeling emerged in his heart. A small sentence, a small sentence that ‘I marry you’ if he had said to her she would not have dead at all. Why could not he say that to her? She surely not as much beautiful as Susmitha, she surely not educated like Susmitha, she surely not having wealth like Susmitha but she too was beautiful. With abundant and ferocious youth she was quite an attraction to anyone. If it was anyone else in his place he would have attracted by her and said ‘I marry you’ to her. Why could not he do that?
He was standing at the railing of the bridge and looking at the place in the river where Mamatha had fallen on that day. She took an immediate plunge into the waters because of her weight but in seconds emerged on the surface of the water again. He could still remember her hand held up as a supplication for help. For a moment he was tempted to jump into the water and save her but he could not. Why he remained helplessly watching as the fast flowing water was taking her with it? Sure he did not know how to swim but if it were Susmitha did he remain watching her so? He nodded his head helplessly and left that place.
