Madan nodded his head. “Alright then. Forget about our conversation. We can be good friends from now on too as we are until now, cannot we?”
“Sure. I never have said that we cannot be like that.” Madhuri said.
She did not know why she remembered all that now. Even consciously she tried to rebuff whatever Madan said on that day, her subconscious warned her all the time saying what Madan said was true. She was feeling now consciously also what Madan had said on that day was true.
If Manohar was a right person how could he ask her to make Susmitha a drug addict? Susmitha, what a nice girl she was! She always enjoyed her friendship then. Still she could not understand how she had tried such a nasty thing on her.
“No, I cannot do that. I cannot ask her to take drugs. What happens to her if she addicted to them?” She firmly rejected when Manohar suggested it to her.
More than once she argued with him on that matter when he suggested and that was the first time argument.
“She is not as good as you are thinking. You did not know how she is behaving with our family. We are all facing hell with her in the home. Once she got hold on the properties she would expel all of us out of home without giving anything to us.” He said.
She did not say anything but she could not believe anything he was saying then to her.
“We are not going to make her a complete drug addict. We just take her into our control. Once we can make her do in the way we want, we rehabilitate her again. It is so easier a thing.”
Still she was silent. She was so confused and did not know what to do.
“If you want to marry me, you have to do this. I shall become a pauper after she gets her twenty second year. Without a penny I have to commit suicide. How can I promise you to marry you under such circumstances?”
Then only she could know that he did own nothing. She did a very big mistake thinking he was a rich person and would give her good marital life. But she was helpless now. Everyone in the college and around knew about their intimacy. She already said to many of her friends that Manohar was going to marry her.
Under such circumstances she agreed to do in the way he directed her. From the beginning of her friendship with Susmitha all it was as he directed. But she enjoyed her friendship and started liking her a lot. It pained her a lot to make her a drug addict. She knew it was quite difficult to become normal once addicted to drugs.
She had to try forcibly to calm her reasoning mind and confirm herself that Manohar was a good guy. There was no other way to her. With the hope to lead a happy marital life with a rich person she did a very big mistake.
She did not feel that much worry and in fact felt happier when Susmitha smelt the con and rejected to take the drug. But the way she looked at her then cringed her heart. There was hate, disgust! Susmitha could not hate her more than that at all.
She closed her eyes and tried to sleep but she could not. There was terrible pain still in her. The only difference this time was he appeared a little satisfied. By his brutal force he got all that in the way he wanted on her body and it gave him pleasure. Until that moment she could stop him from doing everything in the way he wanted but this day he overpowered her in all respects. She was feeling fear in future it would so every time while he had it with her.
Why her mother was that much helpless? She many a time thought this and never could get an answer to that. What made her behave like that? What made her to subjugate that much?
“Mom, what those people are doing to you? Why you are weeping like that?” on one day she asked her.
The pain in her eyes was not understandable at all to her then. There was an unfathomable expression in her face. “Don’t ask. You cannot understand.” Hugging her strongly she said. “What all I pray God is you should never face a situation like this in your life.”
But she could not understand what might have happened to her in the closed room until she was forcibly raped by that brute on that day. There was terrible pain. She was feeling disgust now too remembering that incident on that day.
She did not feel even a little pity when her father was mercilessly beat by the villagers. He was the real culprit than the person who raped her. Then that person as well was beat equally by the villagers and was handed over to the police. Everyone felt pity on her then. But that pity as well became quite painful to her.
But what she should do now? She was slowly and slowly losing trust on Manohar. She doubt whether he would really marry her. She did not know what other ugly things he might force her to do. He was blackmailing her now that he would not marry her if she did not do in the way he asked her.
She would not bother at all to remain alone all her life but she could not remain without fulfilling her mother’s wish. If this Manohar would not marry her no one would come forward to marry her. Her mother’s soul would remain without getting peace.
She did not know when she fell into sleep. But that sleep as well was quite troubling and disturbing to her with disgusting dreams.

The presence of all the people in the main hall gave a different shade to the environment there. All of them fall silent after Madan explained Susmitha’s experience in the mango tope.
“It is your fault indeed that you left her all alone in the mango tope on that day.” Jayanthi accusingly said. “She is so delicate and sensitive. I understood that point on the first day itself I have seen her.”
“Not so much delicate and sensitive as you are thinking of and delicacy and sensitivity would not cause imaginations like that either.” Madan angrily said.
“So you have already come to the opinion that I imagined all that.” Susmitha’s face painted with red color and she looked at him sharply.
“All sane persons would be forced to come to that opinion on hearing what you have said.” He did not try to conceal his irritation. “Can anyone live on the top of a mango tree? Can anyone float in the air? Cany anyone jump down from the top of tha mango tree?”
“You have not comprehended even a little what I have said.” Her anger too gave a different shade to her beauty. “I said that it was a devil. Devils can do anything.”
“Before pursuing this matter anymore, I just want to ask a simple question. How many of you do believe in the devils apart from Susmitha?” looking into the faces of the other people there Madan asked.
“I do believe in devils.” Without any hesitation Jayanthi said. “I am not agreeing with you that it is all just Susmitha’s imagination. I have heard so many real devil stories before.”
“Count me in too.” Vineet said for the first time opening his mouth there. “In fact, I have seen devils before.”
Madan looked into his brother’s face as the last hope and Pallav moved uneasily in his chair. “Even I don’t believe in devils much, I cannot deny their existence completely. At the same time Susmitha is an educated and intelligent woman. She would never become a victim of imaginations like that.”
Madan reclined in the chair and closed his eyes helplessly. Before closing his eyes he had involuntarily looked at Susmitha and she was trying to suppress a forcing smile.
“Now it is only you who are having no belief at all in devils.” He heard his vadina’s voice.
“Alright then. I cannot withstand this much of majority and I do also try to believe in devils. Now tell me what should we do?” looking into the face of his vadina Madan asked.
“You may better ask that question to me.” It came from Susmitha and he turned his head towards her. There was still a hidden smile in her face and he suddenly got a doubt that she concocted all this only to tease him.
“First thing you must stop going into that tope since that Mamatha is in it to do harm to you.” Even before he said anything Susmitha said.
“But it is impossible to me. I love that tope so much. I just cannot remain in home without going into there.” His voice became hoarse with distress and irritation. He knew that Susmitha had got the support of the majority there to impose on him whatever conditions she liked.
Susmitha helplessly looked into the faces of the people there and Madan was surprised as there was no sadistic pleasure in her face as he expected. “I know how much you love it Madan. I hate myself to ask you like this. But… but…. That Mamatha really does harm to you if you go into it.”
“Alright, alright, I shall see that he would not go into it at all.” Jayanthi said but she too felt bad for that. She too knew very well how much Madan liked spending time in that tope. “Do you want to say anything more for his and your sake?” she asked.
“Only for his sake not mine.” Susmitha said and if there was any feeling other than regard for Madan in her heart her facial expression completely betrayed it. “I am not thinking that Mamatha constrained to stay only in that tope. What we should do if she comes into our home also?”
Jayanthi puzzled and feared on hearing that and she looked into Pallav’s face as if expecting an answer from him for that. He took the responsibility and said immediately. “She did not come upto here until now. First let her come and then we shall see.”
Susmitha nodded her head even she appeared not completely satisfied with it.
One thing they all understood for sure. Madan briefed her about Mamatha fully.

Slowly and in a systematic way Susmitha took off all her clothes one after one from her body and observed little by little her emerging naked body in the full length mirror with interest. Looking at her reflection so, she thought that she was beautiful and it filled her heart with a sort of happiness. Even without any support too, the full and round breasts stood erected on her chest and the black colour nipples on them were taut and pointed. She cupped them both with her hands while her eyes downed even more on the reflection in the mirror. She had become a woman at her age of twelve and she still could remember that day. Now she was a fully ripen fruit apt to be plucked to be enjoyed by some competent male.
