Part 1 – The Question That Sparked Everything
The classroom buzzed faintly under the whir of ceiling fans. The boy sat quietly near the window, half-listening as his teacher explained about genes — the microscopic codes that shaped life itself. Rows of students scribbled notes, but his eyes were distant, watching sunlight spill across his textbook like liquid gold.
“Each human carries thousands of genes,” the teacher said, voice echoing softly. “They determine who we are — our appearance, our health, even some behaviors. But many genes remain dormant, never activated.”
Those last words struck him like lightning. Dormant genes. Hidden powers asleep inside every living thing.
He raised his head, eyes unfocused but bright. If there are so many hidden genes, he thought, is it possible that one of them could contain something extraordinary… something beyond science?
The thought wrapped around his mind like a spark waiting to ignite. He didn’t hear the rest of the lecture. His imagination was running wild — pictures of glowing DNA strands, of cells unlocking strange abilities humans never knew they had.
“Hey, what are you thinking?”
The sudden voice snapped him back to reality. His teacher stood near, eyebrows raised. The class chuckled. Embarrassed, the boy shook his head. “Nothing, sir.”
But it wasn’t nothing. That question had already carved itself deep into his mind.
When the final bell rang, he packed his books slowly and walked out. The afternoon sun was warm, yet he felt a chill — not from cold, but from curiosity. Every sound seemed distant as his thoughts kept circling back.
What if one gene — just one — could unlock something supernatural? Could evolution have hidden a secret waiting for the right trigger?
By the time he reached home, his thoughts had turned into obsession. He dropped his bag, ran to his computer, and began searching.
“Human genes with hidden potential,”
“Dormant genes activation,”
“Environmental triggers in DNA.”
He read scientific articles, biology blogs, and strange conspiracy theories. Some spoke of mutations. Some of evolution. Others whispered of experiments that were never approved. But none gave him the answer he was looking for.
The night grew deeper. His room was dim except for the glow of the screen reflecting in his eyes. His mother called for dinner, but he didn’t respond. He was lost in a world of information — each answer giving birth to ten new questions.
He leaned back in his chair, exhausted but restless. Maybe I’m thinking too much… he told himself.
Then, a sudden realization hit him.
Genes can turn on or off based on environmental changes.
That thought felt like a door unlocking inside his mind. If some genes could awaken for survival — to adapt to new surroundings — what if there were genes waiting for the right kind of environment to awaken something more… something humanity had forgotten?
He stood up slowly, heart pounding. His eyes glowed faintly in the light of the screen. He didn’t know what he was going to do next — only that something had begun inside him.
He didn’t realize it yet, but this question — this spark — was about to change his life forever.
