Chapter - 7
Sudarshan and Megha stopped after a few seconds. Megha handed over her body to Sudarshan and found wounds on his left shoulder and two on his right hand. She examined the scars on her body next. He had one wound on his right shoulder and two on his left arm.
Chitraketu expected the situation and saw that both Megha and Sudarshana had given an equal blow to one another. Both of them were injured. . So he glanced first at King Visvara and then at Rajavardhana. Then he breathed a deep breath and uttered, "Initiate the sky war ."
As soon as the war in the sky was declared to begin, Sudarshan once more returned his sword to the sheath and then drew it out. When Megha handled the sword with great care, it was discovered that the form of Sudarshan's sword had altered. Previously, the sword had a common shape, and now it was in the form of celestial lightning.
Sudarshana rotated his sword and charged towards Megha to strike. . Megha was surprised too. Holding her shield in hand, Megha prepared to fight back against the attack. When Sudarshan came close to Meghani, Megha collapsed and faced her shield upwards. Sudarshan's strong attack was foiled because of this.
Sudarshan was very angry with the failure. He took a flight to the sky, keeping one foot on the ground and lost himself among the clouds. Shortly afterward, the sky became dark with clouds, and rain started pouring down. After a while, Megha glanced up at the sky. Sudarshan stood in the sky now with such haste as if he had put gravity at his command.
Sudarshan cast the lightning to the ground with his sword , but Megha, rather than protecting with a shield, swallowed the lightning on her sword. Then Sudarshan continued to attack with heavenly lightnings, but since Megha would shift from one location to another with the speed of her mind, each attack would be a failure.
When all of Sudarshan's attacks didn't work, he ceased attacking and remained motionless at the position where he was in the sky. After a while, the clouds that were in the sky dissipated and the sky cleared up like before.
Megha thought thus and took the leap, establishing her position in the sky. Standing just in front of Sudarshan, it felt to her as though she was crying. Hearing his reply, Sudarshan again sheathed his sword and strapped his shield to his back. Watching this, Megha strapped her shield to her back and sheathed her sword, then went out holding its clasp.
The nervous crowd below got confused when Megha and Sudarshan exchanged sarcastic glances and vanished. Then began the flashes of lightning. But this thunderbolt was very different from the one that had previously flashed across the skies. That bolt of lightning was a manifestation of the divine powers of Rajaryan, and simultaneous with that was the celestial thunder of the fight between Sudarshan and Megha.
